Got these and just tried them out using regular tiki torch fuel. I think there may be a significant design flaw. I may have filled them too full, but the screw in top doesn't have a thread lock. That is, when you screw the top on with the wick, the thread never stops turning - there's no lock on tightening.

The result is that when you light them, vapor from the fuel chamber seems to vent and flame begins covering the whole top of the unit. I've only just tried them now and had to blow them out within a minute on two attempts, but a locking thread - maybe with a seal seems to be needed.

I'll update later if I find success, but this seems like a fairly dangerous design deficiency. So far, I cannot get the threading of the cap to go "tight".

Torches are a little flimsy if not careful with installation, but serve their purpose well. They come with no instructions, so some common sense is required to set up. Insert the bottom of the two pieces into the ground first, then attach the top one. If you don't follow this order, the attaching screw to the top will bend. The cap must be pushed down first before unscrewing. Fill with desired fluid using a funnel that is held with the tip slightly above the opening to avoid bubbling from air coming out of the container as the fluid fills it. Allow about two minutes for the wick to fully absorb the liquid. Light with a match or similar utensil. The flame will settle after a few minutes of either burning too much or barely flickering. Over time, you will figure out how long you like the wick. We filled ours with citronelle type fuel and it really works well at keeping mosquitoes away. I am thinking of getting more, they are worth every penny and they look great.
