Deb Aoki was born, raised and eventually escaped Honolulu, Hawaii. She now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and her weekly comic strip "Bento Box" appears in the Honolulu Advertiser, Hawaii's largest daily newspaper. Jon J. Murakami is a cartoonist and illustrator based in Honolulu, Hawaii. His weekly comic strip "Calabash" appears bi-weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
