Product Description

This a NEW All in One repairing station the combines a Hot Air Rework Gun with a soldering iron and a desoldering Gun. This a very high quality unit from Aoyue who is a leading producer in Europe and Asia and is now introducting products to the US Market. Just screw a nozzle onto the hot air tool, place the nozzle over the QFP, SOP, PLCC or SOJ to be desoldered, apply hot air to melt the solder without ever touching the component or PC board, and gently lift the component from the board using the vacuum pickup. Soldering of the replacement SMD is just as easy. Maintains a constant set temperature when the set and the value is reached. All Digital display of temperature and pressure with touch control on the front panel. The de-soldering tool comes with zero crossing circuitry preventing electrical surges and is equipped with a strong suction vacuum pump. Built in Air Flow gauge The 24 volt soldering iron is Lead Free compatible with the compound tip design by connecting the ceramic heater, sensor control unit and tip as one. This style tip heats up extremely quickly Compatible with many nozzle types from all manufacturers. There is an Auto cool-off process that leaves the blower on until the nozzle is cool, this prolongs life of the heating element and to ensure safety. ESD safe design. Note: The desoldering gun and soldering iron share the same connector so that can't be used at the same time. Package content: Main station with hot air gun, Air nozzles (1124,1130,1197, 1313, 1818),G001 IC popper, Z003 Hot air gun holder, Soldering Iron with Tip, Soldering Iron Holder with Solder Wire Stand, De-soldering Gun, Spare soldering iron element, manual vacuum suction pen, Power cord. SRA Soldering Products is the Exclusive Distributor and will handle warranty repairs after the first 30 days (for issues within 30 days contact Amazon directly). Customer Reviews

This is not powered by the vacuum line, but is instead operated by a button on the side of the device.

Although the soldering iron heated up quickly it does not have nearly the power of my used Metcal and the handle gets much hotter after prolonged use.

I wouldn't want to use this in a production environment, but it looks pretty good for a home unit/hobbiest type of situation.

This is a very complete station that will enable you to work on a wide variety of projects. The heat from the heat gun is even and regular. Several nozzles are included, and many others are available at low prices. An extra heating element is also included. The soldering iron heats up very quickly. The solder extractor works much better than I had expected, though it did take a bit of getting used to. The De-soldering gun works better than others I have tried. It's easy to clean as well, which you should do after every use. The also include a suction cup IC removal pen. This is not powered by the vacuum line, but is instead operated by a button on the side of the device. The stand for the soldering iron accepts standard rolls of solder, and has a nice weight that is very stable. All in all, I am very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone who is into electronics creation or repair as a hobby.

I wouldn't want to use this in a production environment, but it looks pretty good for a home unit/hobbiest type of situation. We just purchased one for use as a rework station where I work. The unit does come with a desoldering gun and soldering iron even though they're not shown in the picture. However, the soldering iron and the desoldering gun use the same connection so you can't have them plugged in at the same time.

In short, I'd love to own one of these to use with my own home projects, but I wouldn't call it a professional unit.

One nice thing about it that I haven't seen in any other units is that the soldering iron has an air pump attachment on it to capture the smoke created from boiling flux.

I have owned this product for about a year and I am very disappointed in its functionality and longevity. I originally bought the unit because it combined a hot air rework station with a desoldering gun. Turns out both were quite useless. The desoldering gun is of very poor design and is not very useful at all. The tip is too long and has a high enough thermal mass that solder often gets stuck at the end of the tip. In edition the vacuum pump is not all that powerful so that most of the time the gun does not even pick up all the solder. You are much better off sticking with soldering wick and a solder sucker. The hot air rework station was ok but after a few months of use the cable in the cord broke. After disassembling it it was clear they used inexpensive wire and did not do proper strain relief.

Although the soldering iron heated up quickly it does not have nearly the power of my used Metcal and the handle gets much hotter after prolonged use. You are much better off buying a quality iron used of ebay.

If you are willing to spend $250 on a soldering iron you are much better off going on ebay and buying a used Metcal to do your soldering and spending $50 on a butane torch (which is much more reliable than the Aoyue and works almost as well).

Ive had mine for about 3 years now. I have never had any problems. The smoke absorber gets annoying after the 2nd time you try to solder but its not difficult to remove. I would recommend this.

Had it 3 years now, use it for hobby work.

Excellent heat up, decent length hoses, good vacuum, quiet, seems to be dead on temperature adjust.

Had to sand down one edge of desolder head tip to get good contact, and wish i could have the solder tip going at same time to heat up the pool better, but that it what we still have our old el-cheapo's for.

hot air is just so-so, hasn't been that useful, but i don't have a pre-heater oven either. wish it was strong enough to do battery tabs (was what i was hoping for), but guess ill just have to get into HV !

The real beauty of this baby is heat control, and the ability to use some of the hako tips, and the availability of a smd tweezer tip. as an amatuer,it has made life MUCH simpler.

recommend ordering the x-small chisel tip, and the biggest de-solder tip(so you can file down one side flat/45deg),and of course the tweezers. also find some .3 solder-works magically well on cap replacement and smd diodes.

Did buy this from SRA when they had just picked up the line. Still think it was a great buy.
Got rid of a ton of frustration in learning and getting into close sections of boards, and still has enough oomph to do large connections too.

oh yeah, don't turn on the air pump when desolder tool is hooked up, it looses almost all suction boost on the gun trigger if you do...

edit-- looks like the 701a+ does both solder and desolder at the same time, just no digital controls..

Exact temps are nice and all heat-up fast. Nice to have an iron that heats fast to proper temp.

I really bought it for the de-soldering gun. I have seen it work perfectly on some boards and poorly on others (seemed to need more suction). I wish it worked better in general use, but it's still better than a manual pump.

Used HotAirGun to reflow some large SMD chips (with hidden-under pads) instead of "Oven Trick" ... it actually worked fine.

I usually keep the HotAir and DeSoldering gun hooked up. I use the separate included iron/sponge holder for my Weller pencil.
