There is very good and useful information in this book to get you on your way to growing food from an apartment. I found great ideas in here on how and where to grow. It also has a good list of things to grow in an apartment. I don't think the book lacks anything for leaving out when to plant. If you grow indoors~plant anytime. If you will be growing outside its not too hard to find your growing times according to your zone. I personally really like this book and recommend it to anyone who wants to grow their own food. Its good information for anyone who lives in apartment or any small space.

This book had a great start, with an author's voice and story that was easy to relate to but went downhill fast. It began by covering the very very basics of gardening - placement, light, what to grow, - but doesn't talk about watering ideas / options. The last half of this book is a guide to planting and caring for individual types of plants like cucumbers, eggplants, and such - all easy to grow but all information that is readily available on the back of a seed packet.
