5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome to talent!, August 27, 2001

KMM Bezerk (Welcome to Earth) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Apbl2000 (Audio CD)
I first heard of this band when I bought a Underground industrial CD from "Hot topics" two years ago. I heard "Non-stop violence" and instantly feel in love with the band. When "Welcome to Earth" came out, I purchased the CD the first day. "Welcome to Earth" should be considered a landmark in musical craftsmanship. Needless to say the live CD is unbelievable as well. It was recorded very well and sounds clear, which is always a good thing for live CDs. If your a fan of APB and can't get to their shows like myself pick up this CD...you won't be disapointed. Songs like Starsign, Paranoia, Deep Red, and Fade to black really come to life! Like I said before if your a fan of APB this is not to be missed...put the CD in your player, sit back and listen to some of music's best songs...Welcome to talent.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's like a different band altogether!, June 3, 2006
This review is from: Apbl2000 (Audio CD)
I have an admission to make: I hate live albums.
Okay, that may be unfair, but in my mind, live albums, while possessing great energy, always had flawed production, annoying crowd sounds, and sloppy timing. The vocals never sound as good as something out of a studio, and the album never gives me anything new. I own and love the originals of all the songs.
But this... this was different. The production, first of all, is absolutely fantastic! It's as if they recorded each instrument seperately, but in truth, they're all palying at once. The tracks are just so distinct. It just blows my mind.
Not only that, but there are instruments in the first place! Live, Apop adds two guitars to the mix, making all of the music intensely heavy. It's more of an industrial rock outfit, and a good one at that. Add in Gier's wonderful backup singing, and the songs are almost without fail on par or better than the album counterparts. The Soli Deo Gloria cuts are infinitely improved.
And, of course, the energy is brilliant. Gone is the cold, digital feel of the studio albums, replaced by a human zeal and warmth.
Probably the only good live album on the market.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding piece of EBM before they turned to pop..., January 3, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Apbl2000 (Audio CD)
Obviously a keeper for APB fans,a must have piece of classic EBM. Actually good recording quality, considering specific gothic dark style of performers. So it shines and mixes basically songs from their earlier albums. One minor thing to know is that songs are made from one single concert recording so the breaks are sometimes appear ,like, after in the end of one song APB speak with the crowd, name the next song and then comes the break. So if one can play it gapeless as a single piece its IMO more natural.
