I've used this hose for over a year out on my deck. I like to drink out of the hose when I'm watering my garden and so I got this hose for that reason. I'm delighted with it. I have many kinds of hoses on the farm here but this is my favorite. I'm in a wheelchair and the smaller diameter makes for easy handleing and a small "bump" when I roll over it. I have never had it kink. Ever. After a summer/winter/summer all outdoors I can wipe the surface and it looks brand new. No signs of any wear. Get this hose and I think you'll be very pleased. If you let your kids play with a garden hose they WILL drink out of it. Better safe than sorry. A nice product.

The one thing I've always hated about gardening is hoses--until I found this one. When I opened the hose the first time, I was able to uncoil it easily and then hang it on a holder with much less hassle than my other hoses. It's lightweight and easy to handle. I'm so pleased with it, I'm replacing all my hoses with this type. Although we don't usually drink out of the hose, I do fill my dog's water bucket and with my current hose, I have to let it run for several minutes because of the milky, soapy water that comes out at first. That can't possibly be good for the dog or anything else. That doesn't happen with this hose. I get clear water immediately.

This hose is white with a blue stripe, which is great for a boat or RV, but a little glaring in the yard. Still it's so much easier to use I can live with that. I have to move one of my hoses several times in dry weather to hook to different soaker hoses and some things need to be hand watered, so weight and manageability are really important to me and this hose scores a 10.

I purchased the hose about 5 years ago and it worked fine for a couple years. Into the third year the male end blew off. Kept the end and used the hose to wash the soap off my autos for a couple of years. When I needed a hose for my camper i decided to take advantage of my lifetime warranty. Even though the hose had their name one it clearly identifying it they said I had to have the original receipt and packaging. How stupid. Thermal paper receipts disappear in a year's time. And keeping the packaging? If i kept the packaging for every item purchased with a lifetime warranty I wouldn't be able to get in my house. Ok hose, but make a copy of the receipt and store it and the original packaging in a dark dry area like a bank vault($$) so if you need to take advantage of the warranty you will have all the necessary materials.

very disappointed - I purchased this hose because I wanted a good quality hose for our new trailer... on first use the brass coupling on one end had a hole in it, it leaked (sprayed!) so badly we could not use -had to replace with a hose from campground store (not cheap) When I called to request refund, I was told they would send return packaging, we never received it. Just chalked it up as a loss and a bum purchase...

Very pleased with this purchase for several reasons:
*Very well priced for a 50ft non-kinking hose. You probably won't find anything else in the 20$ range.
*Absolutely kink-free. I am just using this on a high pressure washer - but I needed an uninterrupted water source for it that I can rely on.
*Drinking safe. The package advertises it as drinking safe, it's approved by the FDA.. You can be overly cautious about everything you eat, drink, breathe, or look at.. Or you can admit that this is a generally acceptable product to safely use when living outside of a plastic bubble or California :-) . Also, despite what wiki says, lead is not always added to brass, nor will the lead magically chip off (like paint) and contaminate your drinking water you consume. Also, no where on the packaging does it say it contains lead or the "California caner" message - which they *should* have to put on there if it actually contained lead.. Of course it's purely a personal choice how protective you want to be, but I wanted to make this a point since other reviewers focused heavily on the opposition side of this.
*The hose connector is strong, had several cheaper hoses that used thinner metals that bend or leak easy. However this does not.
*Has a see-through strip to see water flow. Maybe a useless feature, but still kind-of cool.

All-in-all a good purchase, and quick shipping from Amazon like always.

We recently purchased this water hose ($24.21) for our daughter, and there is only one thing I have to say about it: It doesn't smell like plastic/chemicals! Every other hose we've tried or used contained PVC, and if you've heard of PVC/phthalate you probably know it's bad. Don't take my word on the PVC/phthalate issue, read some empirically validated research and see for yourself! It's also lead free.

But take my word on this: This is a great hose. The other reviews are right, and it is a wonderful hose to use for children who want to play in the water on a hot summer day! The durability, kink free feature, and solid construction are just bonuses. The real win here is that you're getting a water hose that's safer for your children to play with.

One other note: You can register it for a lifetime replacement warranty. How cool is that?

I uploaded photos of the hose I received. I ordered a hose with a brass faucet fitting and received one with a brass/plastic composite fitting. I'm going to use it, but I HATE Bait and Switch tactics!! It will break as most composites do, but by then I won't be able to replace it. Amazon you have disappointed me yet again!

UPDATE: Upon reporting that the hose fittings were not as advertised, Amazon made good with a full return and refund. I believe that the improper fittings represented are an inadvertant error. I advised them to update the photos and description or others will feel misled as well.

Just received this product tonight. Disappointed. Faucet connection NOT as advertised. Hose does not have all brass octagon female connection. Instead, it has a plastic and brass connection, "thumb coupling". This is a cheaper type of connection and should be disclosed to consumers prior to purchase. I saw they had this problem on the 1/2" hose and corrected it, so I assumed that they had checked the connections on this hose to make sure they were being advertised correctly.

Amazon needs to correct this problem and be more thorough when problems are reported with similar merchandise.

(I have posted pictures of the problem above).

Based on the overall 4-star rating of this hose, I ordered one. The only thing we use the hose for is to fill up the bird bath in the front yard daily. Nothing else.
After about 4 days I decided I needed a 2nd hose for the back yard, so I ordered another one. I should have waited.

The next day, the 1st hose started to leak. When the 2nd hose arrived, I replaced the 1st one with it.
The 2nd hose lasted about 5 days and it started to leak too.

I've never had any hose in my entire life that sprung a leak so quickly, let alone 2 within a week of being put into service.

With the poor quality of this hose, I'm beginning to question the validity of Amazon's user ratings. Are they being submitted by employees of Apex Hoses?

Look elsewhere because these hoses are junk!!!

I love that this is made of food grade materials; many hoses have toxic components (lead, etc.). Plus, this hose resists kinking. Great product.
