This is a good value for the money. We have this TV set up in a second bedroom of our house. The picture and sound are good for the money. So far what impresses me is that for about $100.00 we have a TV that is hooked up with individual items such as VCR/DVD/PS2/Gamecube with no sound or picture problems (Knock on wood).

Purchased this TV in December 2003 as X-mas present for my son. Opened for X-mas Eve, DOA. Amazon won't touch because it was opened. Sent back to APEX. They incorrectly shipped me a DVD player with someone else's address hand-written on box. I shipped it back. Then they sent me a TV, the WRONG model! I shipped it back. Now here it is June 29, 2004...

This is a good value for the money. We have this TV set up in a second bedroom of our house. The picture and sound are good for the money. So far what impresses me is that for about $100.00 we have a TV that is hooked up with individual items such as VCR/DVD/PS2/Gamecube with no sound or picture problems (Knock on wood).
On the down side this thing ways a ton, I think we weighed it on our scale at close to 60 pounds, but it seems sturdy and plays well.
I'd recommend this to anyone who was looking for another TV and didn't want to spend a lot of cash. It's not tiny like a 13" and it's got good picture and sound. What more could you ask for with that price?
I'd consider giving this as a gift also with confidence that it would be a good addition to my loved ones home/office/etc.

While I agree with Wann that the TV is not the best, I have not encountered the problems he has. Perhaps he should return the TV, Amazon is very good about returns. I did not have either the picture or sound distortions. I use cable; my channels are in order. As such, there were no channels to jump over. I do not know if it will behave erractically if I try to use it more fully. A simple universal remote at Target or Best Buy is under $...anyway. I bought the TV for the kids, for DVD and gaming. It is doing an admirable job for the purpose. It's a good value, though I will not attest to the engineering. I get a feeling many Apex products suffer a defect or two as a number of second-hand stories indicate. But that's one of the reasons why one orders from Amazon who will cover even the shipping costs if something arrives in a defective condition. They will also accept returns if it breaks down soon after arrival, but you'll be charged s&h.

I've had this tv for close to 8 months now... I can only say good things about it. It looks gorgeous, the sound is great, the image is top-notch, and it works with my vcr, dvd player, digital camcorder, everything! I paid a very good price for it and I have not been disappointed.

I would definitely recommend this item to anybody, that's how good I think it is.

No, it's not perfect, but for this price, it's top of the line!

I purchased Apex 20" tv in 2003 i am can sfely say it was value for my money I think that the remote sucks also but! it won't kill anyone to walk to the tv 10ft away and put in on or change the channel this was my first television i still love it,sometimes people get their item from a bad batch and that can be annoying when everbody else said it works great! I got a good tv and my review is on that tv which i own, i cant swear by anything else my experience with this product was marvellous and satisfying. It worth every penny laterz folks.

Like many, I purchased this TV for the unbelievable value. A TV is a TV, right? Actually, prior to this, I purchased an APEX 20" Flat Screen TV - which is even better for a few more dollars. The quality of the picture and sound is very good, and the features are very nice. Certainly, a "good buy". With one glitch - the remote was DOA (dead on arrival). Unfortunately, I used the TV for several months in my dining/kitchen area and never needed the remote. Having just moved, the TV is now in my bedroom - where the remote would be useful. I took it out of the wrap, installed 2 new batteries (then tested them in another device), and no go. Even read the manual, trying to make sure the parental control was not factory set. With a dead remote in hand, I called APEX. The limited 1 year warranty only covers the remote for 90 days, and well, I'm about 45 days too late. The customer service rep was quick to advise me of that. I "tried" in vain to get her to understand my dilemma, the key factor being this remote has been dead since it arrived. She reminded me again of the 90-day policy (companies are so good at writing policies). Oddly, I offered this information at the start of my conversation. End result? I was offered the option to buy a new remote for about $29 (about 1/3 of the cost of the TV itself), and that probably did not include shipping. Would Sony or Panasonic have stood behind their product under the same circumstances? I don't know, but APEX clearly did not. Moral of the story - great price, very good product, poor customer service - get what you pay for? I simply cannot give this product a recommendation greater then 1, unless the company chooses to show some decency to their customers; and as you have probably guessed, APEX won't be on my list in the future.
