Save space and enjoy a wonderfully vivid, colorful picture with the 30-inch Apex AVL3076 LCD flat panel TV. It features up to a up to 1280 x 768-pixel resolution and you can select from the following display formats: 1080i (HDTV), 720p (HDTV), 480p (EDTV). The AVL3076 has a built-in 181-chanel NTSC tuner, but you'll need a separate HDTV tuner to receive high-definition broadcasts. It comes with a swiveling base and can be wall mounted.

The AVL3076 features a widescreen picture aspect ratio (16:9; standard TVs have a 4:3 aspect ratio), which is the ideal screen format for viewing widescreen video from DVD players and the growing availability of broadcast programming off digital HDTV tuners (HD content is always widescreen), cable boxes and satellite receivers.

The 3D digital comb filter helps reduce video noise by comparing each horizontal scanning line with the lines above and below and with the corresponding line on the previous subsequent video frames. The 3:2 pulldown cinema video processing feature detects and compensates film--which is shot at 24 frames per second (fps) compared with video's 30 fps rate--to video for a smooth theater-like experience at home. The Picture-in-Picture (PIP) feature enables convenient simultaneous viewing of TV programs and video sources.

The AVL3076 has two built-in 10-watt speakers (for 20 watts of total power). It features the following video and audio connections:

I've had this TV for 1 year now and no problems. I have not tried the HDTV functionality of it yet, but the DVD quality is very good. I had a little trouble finding a remote because it was missing when I bought it, but I finally found one online for about $30. The picture is not really sharp with a non-HD signal, but I've heard that's common in HDTV's. From across the bedroom, it looks great and DVD's look even better. The built-in speakers have plenty of volume so we never have to turn it all the way up like some cheap systems. Overall, a nice TV.
