It failed to give me any signal for digital channels.
Linda R Miller
Antenna was a nice design, but I am not able to use it because even with the Antenna and the Apex converter box I can't pick up a signal in my area.
Karen Hunter
The listed customer service number which is a call center in India has no clue and kept telling me to call back.

I live in a strong-signal area (Los Angeles). My original mag-mount 24" spike antenna does nicely on UHF but poorly on VHF. I bought this Apex because it had VHF capability and hoped that the amplifier would generally improve reception. I now receive satisfactory VHF. Otherwise I haven't noticed anything dramatic. I haven't fussed over the reception and don't feel competent to say much more on that.

Another reason I bought this antenna was because of the smart antenna aspect. The picture suggests very strongly that this is not "smart" in the CEA-909 sense - and it is *not*. But the description seemed ambiguous and for $10 I thought it was worth checking it out. (I'm not sure anyone manufactures smart antennas now.)

There is a definite plus if your coupon-eligible converter box (CECB) happens to have a smart-antenna connector. This Apex will save on cable clutter. That's because amplifier power can be supplied from the CECB smart-antenna connector rather than the included 120V power supply.

The product was east to install, easy to operate, and enabled me to see dozens of channels with a clear, clean image on my TV with the Digital TV Converter. A great buy for the money.

Although I have no problem with the Apex Smart Antenna that I purchased and it did improve my reception, Apex fouled up and sent me two antennas, and charged me for both on my credit card.

The listed customer service number which is a call center in India has no clue and kept telling me to call back. Two emails to their customer service email address remain unanswered and a direct call to Apex got me the operator who dumped my into somebody's voice mail. It might be the worst customer service experience that I have ever had. Thus only one star.

I cannot recommend buying any product from this company. Not because of the products but because of the company. If something goes wrong, you are totally screwed.....

After having trouble picking up a major station with a Radioshack antenna, I looked at the manual for my new TV and this antenna was recommended. So I went online to find it here. It works great with the TV, possibly because it is the same brand, Apex. Something that might be useful to those having trouble is to adjust the gain controller, a small knob on the back of the bottom part of antenna. I turned it up to max and that seems to have done the trick. My only qualm was that the item was shipped in only brown wrapping paper from the seller... not used to that, but maybe it is more acceptable for refurbished items.

I found this antenna used at a garage sale for two dollars. Bought it with very low expectations figuring I had wasted a couple bucks. I have tried a lot of amplified indoor antennas. A few pull in signals very well. Most do not (for me). This is one of the few that works! It pulled in all the channels I expected it to,both uhf and vhf. It didn't perform miracles, but it did produce a steady signal for the channels it did get. I live in a rural, but not remote, area. The farthest signal it picked up regularly was less than 40 miles away. I was very pleased, esp. for the price I paid.
Clock is unnecessary and doesn't keep time that well, but it looks sort of cute.

The products (converter and antennae) do not sucessfully provide a clear and consistent reception across the channels it picks up signals for. And I am disapointed in this product I would not reccomend anyone buying it.
