This cute, 20-inch set uses a Pure Flat picture tube, which not only looks cool compared with a conventional, bulbous screen, but also provides a high-quality, high-contrast picture--partly owing to the screen's ability to reduce reflected ambient light, but also due to the set's velocity-scan modulation technology. Velocity-scan modulation improves the definition at picture edges, creating sharper images by slowing the CRT (cathode-ray tube) beam's horizontal scanning during demanding work--say, when rendering transitions from light to dark parts of an image--and speeding it up when scanning easily rendered sections, like broad dark areas.

The PF-2025's three-line comb filter further enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt). The set provides stereo audio (with 5 watts per channel) from broadcast programming via Multi-channel Television Sound (MTS), which permits broadcasters to encode stereo audio within the video portion of TV programming signals.

A component-video input grants optimal connection with a compatible DVD player, while standard composite- and S-video inputs accommodate all DVD players. You can choose between a set of rear AV inputs and a set of side AV inputs for extra convenience. A rear AV output lets you hook up the set with a surround receiver. The set also features trilingual onscreen display (English, Spanish, French), closed-caption display, V-Chip parental control, a sleep timer, auto-off, and a universal remote control.

I am very pleased with this TV. It is not the primary TV in our house and we have nothing external hooked to it. The picture is very crisp. The number buttons on the remote are a little too small for easy operation, but it can be managed. For the money, I would recommend this TV to anyone.

The 20" apex tv is a great 2nd tv. It works outstanding with dvd players even with vcrs. I would highly recommend this tv because of great sound, looks, and picture quality. Also it is easy to set up, it took me around 5 miniuts to set-up. Believe me this is an outstanding buy. Before i bought this tv i never heard of Apex and now i tell everyone about it. 4 of my friends bought it from amazon and they totally love it. I personally think it is better than the big name brands: sony, sharp, jvc etc. It also work great with Video games, i mean you can see every little detail. Buy this tv if you want to save the money, believe me.
Its so good looking too.

This is based on my experiences with a apex 65hdtv I purchased this year and what the service people came to my house to fix the problems said.
The services from the apex company is terrible. They can have you waited on phone for hours and each time you call they ask you for all the info again and never return your call.
According to the service man came to my house to fix my apex tv, apex is one of the worst product he has even seen and not recommend me to buy it again.
