This 27-inch set uses a Pure Flat picture tube, which not only looks cool compared with a conventional, bulbous screen, but also provides a high-quality, high-contrast picture--partly owing to the screen's ability to reduce reflected ambient light, but also due to the set's velocity-scan modulation technology. Velocity-scan modulation improves the definition at picture edges, creating sharper images by slowing the CRT (cathode-ray tube) beam's horizontal scanning during demanding work--say, when rendering transitions from light to dark parts of an image--and speeding it up when scanning easily rendered sections, like broad dark areas.

The PF-2725's three-line comb filter further enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt). The set provides stereo audio (with 5 watts per channel) from broadcast programming via Multi-channel Television Sound (MTS), which permits broadcasters to encode stereo audio within the video portion of TV programming signals.

A component-video input grants optimal connection with a compatible DVD player, while standard composite- and S-video inputs accommodate all DVD players. You can choose between a set of rear AV inputs and a set of side AV inputs for extra convenience. A rear AV output lets you hook up the set with a surround receiver. The set also features trilingual onscreen display (English, Spanish, French), closed-caption display, V-Chip parental control, a sleep timer, auto-off, and a universal remote control.

I paid $... for this TV and its picture is very clear and vibrant. I had no trouble connecting it to my stereo. It is great not having the sports scores cut off on the top or bottom on this flat screen, which is what would happen on my prior TV. It is nice having the controls for the TV (except the On/Off button) on the top of the set. It has all of the features of the name brand 27" flat screen sets except for PIP. I highly recommend it.

I received this TV as a present and must say it is one of the most wonderful TVs I've ever seen.

The picture quality is amazing, the speakers have a very nice sound (although I still prefer my amplifier).

My only complaint about it is the weight, but generally you don't want to be moving a 27 inch TV very often.

I haven't figured out how to hook it up to be in stereo. However, for a TV that cost me [not very much] brand new, it has an excellent picture quality.
