Roomy Pill Box,
By A drawback for me is the fact that the lids open too easily. Therefore, this is a pill organizer best suited for the countertop at home but not for travel because the contents would be spilled very quickly. Other than that: Good product.

Poor design,
This review is from: Apex Weekly Pill Organizer, Twice-a-Day, 1 Pill Organizer (Colors May Vary) (Health and Beauty)
I bought this pill organizer for traveling and was very disappointed. The closures on each slot are so weak that you have to hold them all closed when you open one, else all the pills come tumbling out. I bought it at WalMart which is an hour away, so of course won't go to the trouble of returning it, but can warn others here.

Roomy enough for vitamins and supplements,

I own several of these and am ordering more so I can prep vitamins and meds for hubby and I a couple of weeks at a time. None of mine have broken down and my oldest box is several years old, having survived a handful of cross-country trips.Pros: Roomy enough for my 8 huge supplement pills and several smaller medications in each compartment. Tops pull out for easy loading and washing. Cheerful colors differentiate between morning and evening doses at a glance. Incredible discount and low shipping (fast delivery, too). Cons: Sometimes the lids do pop open when I travel, but I just slip the pill organizer into a gallon zip bag and fold it over. You could slip a rubber band around it until you reach your destination but the zip bag is fine for me. Almost all pill organizers I've purchased have popped open in my purse so I didn't subtract a star for this.

This pill box serves my needs. The compartments are so big you could probably get away with using it to store pills for two weeks at a time. The compartments do open a bit too easily, so if you're going to move it a lot keep that in mind. All in all a good product.

Lid not secure, wrong color,

This is a good idea, but has design flaws.1. The lids do not stay closed. They come open much too easily. I have had pills spill out. 2. The compartments are white and opaque. Many of my pills are white and tiny. I have a hard time seeing if I got the right pills in there. I bought this because it had the dual am/pm design. My previous one was a single and I had to use 2 and remember which was am and which was pm. This is better in that way, but the others were a darker color so I could see light-colored pills better. They were also transluscent, so I could see from the bottom. The removable covers are good for cleaning and filling, but the flaws outweigh the benefits. February 4, 2008 Update: Two of the 3 units I bought are now broken. The lids on a couple of the compartments will no longer stay closed. They have not been dropped or damaged in any way. This product is defective. If I could reduce my rating, I would.

Problem with filling them,
This review is from: Apex Weekly Pill Organizer, Twice-a-Day, 1 Pill Organizer (Colors May Vary) (Health and Beauty)
I have been using this type of pill organizer for years for hubby and myself. Older ones were great since you simply removed the lids from their slot, filled each section and when done, slid the 7 day lid piece back in place. Since the companies decided to eliminate some of the plastic, when you remove the lid section, the pills from night and day tend to fall into each other while you're trying to fill them. I am a retired nurse and set up 6-8 wks at a time for both of us. The removal of the solid plastic "walls" between the AM & PM sections is a PITA. I had to cut pieces of cardstock to fit in the slots so I could fill the sections without having them spill over into the other section for the same day. It also requires cutting some slots in the cardstock to fit the plastic struts in the container. I would give anything to have the solid plastic sections again. Trying to fill the containers without removing the lids is also a PITA because they want to close down. I tried holding them up/together with rubber bands but if the band was tight enough to hold all 14 up, it was also tight enough to cause some breakage of the outer most lids. The biggest problem is not the brand but the design. I actually spoke with one company rep and they really didn't care a bit. Removing the "extra" bits of plastic apparently saved money on manufacturing as well as shipping. If you're only filling a single container each week, it's probably not a problem but when you have a patient with lots of medications, it becomes a problem.

I was satisfied with this pill box. There is plenty of room for all my different vitamins and pills. The lids stay closed pretty well too.

Served me well,
This review is from: Apex Weekly Pill Organizer, Twice-a-Day, 1 Pill Organizer (Colors May Vary) (Health and Beauty)
This pill organizer has served me well for some time now. The hinges on the individual compartments are sturdy, and the rounded design of the compartments themselves makes it very easy to scoop the pills right out. It's also quite generously sized, which is helpful for those of us with coordination problems, clumsy hands, or just a whole lot of whopping big pills to deal with. The only real drawback I've experienced with this model is that the orientation of the labels on the compartments is extremely non-intuitive and, to my mind, rather bizarre. Look at the enlarged photograph and you'll see what I mean: the lettering for the AM and PM boxes faces different directions. I'm not sure why this design decision was made, and while I do realize that it's a very minor thing, it becomes annoying over time, mainly because the design seems to be encouraging one to keep flipping the box around twice a day, which is unnecessary and weirdly...distracting. Were it nor for this odd design choice, however, I'd certainly give this model a 5/5. Sadly, now that I'm on a more complicated med schedule, it no longer suits my needs. But I'm sorry to have to leave it behind, and hope that whatever 4/day I decide on proves to be as serviceable and easy to use as this 2/day has been for me.
