First off - despite it not being mentioned, the set does include a 3D Blu-Ray (requires 3DTV and Glasses) - this is a "Real" 3D disc, not a red/blue anaglyph version.
This is a 2-disc set (2D disc and 3D disc) - same concert content on each, just one is 2D and one is 3D (NOTE: While I can't confirm it, I've heard if you use the 3D disc on a 2D TV, it will play in 2D with some slightly different cuts than that of the 2D disc, but does have a white "halo" through the image. On a 3DTV, there is no option to watch this disc in 2D, so I can't confirm. It does seem there are some different cuts/angles on the 2 discs though) -- the 2D disc is the only one that contains the "Just Add Water" documentary. Note that the disc that says "Blu-Ray 3D" on it is actually the 2D version (the other is the 3D version). This is a mistake with the printing and discs are being recalled to have this corrected -- whether or not it's a big deal is up to you (to me it's not).
The concert runs 120 minutes.
Discs are region A, B, C ("Region All") and should play in any Blu-Ray player/PS3. Audio is in PCM Stereo, DTS-HD 5.1 or Dolby Digital 5.1
Documentary is in HD, runs 32:15 and subtitle options are: OFF, English, Nederland, Espanol, Francais, Deutsch, Portugues, Italiano
The only other extra is a 45-second trailer for the Kylie Minogue app on iTunes (45 seconds / HD)
According to the box, the 3D disc has a framerate of 23.976, the 2D is 59.94.
While not a huge Kylie fan, I do like some of her songs and enjoyed the last 2 DVDs of hers that I watched:
Kylie Minogue - Fever 2002 (Live in Manchester) and
Kylie Minogue - Live in Sydney. With this being Blu-Ray and 3D, I was looking forward to checking it out!
First off, this is a very good stage-production - all sorts of effects, stages and other entertainment going on in the background of each shot. The set/tour was made for 3D, and it really shows. All the stages are multi-layered. This still has an advantage in 2D as there is "stuff" going on in the background (opposed to an empty stage like in some concerts), but it really shines in 3D. The 3D shows a lot of depth and surprisingly a bit of "pop out".
Fortunately this show was filmed with 3D cameras (a number of recent 3D titles were filmed in 2D and converted to 3D, which sometimes looks odd and never really looks "great"). The quality on this is top-notch for what it is (it isn't going to be a top demo piece like Transformers 3 likely will be, but it's not expected to be that. For what it is, it's great). My complaint was that there was some ghosting from time to time (mostly in backgrounds when a light object (like a person in a white costume) was dancing against a black background -- these times were minimal and probably 98% of the show had no ghosting on my TV).
This is also a multi-camera setup with "flying cameras" - video cameras in front, on the sides, above, below, in the very back, in the front of the stage. It has a very high production-value look to it (opposed to concerts with either static cameras or the "crowd cam"). I will say that the wide-angle shots show much more 3D depth/popout than the telephoto cameras zoomed in from the back of the arena.
Colors are very nicely saturated and "grain" (while visible) isn't bad at all (sometimes with these low-light shows it can overwhelm the viewer).
Lots of group dance numbers throughout the show and a number of costume changes.
Audio is very good for a concert, comes across very clear (can't comment on the 5.1 as my 3D system only has a stereo surround system).
I was a bit disappointed that some songs weren't on here, but with it being a newer tour you can't expect everything (plus there are a ton of songs - more than a typical concert DVD). Other songs sound a bit different ("Cant get you out of my head" has much more of a rock-sound to it, others ("Love at first sight") are a mashup).
One very nice thing is that you can hit "Menu" on your remote to bring up a popup menu to select tracks and access other menu items -- most Blu-Ray 3Ds don't allow a popup menu, so this is very nice (you can continue watching the current song while changing tracks/options instead of going back to the main menu)
One slight disappointment is that the Blu-Ray set comes in a 2D/3D combo, while the DVD set contains 1 DVD and 2 CD's of the show - it would be nice if the CDs were included with the Blu-Ray combo, even as a digital-download).
And finally, one last note as I know it does matter to some (this does not affect the score in any way, just a "heads up" for those who care) - if you've never seen a Kylie concert/performance, it's worth noting that there are many barely-clothed (read: underwear) men on stage up-front dancing with Kylie, in the back of the stage and on the giant projection screens in the very back of the stage. I know that it does bother some, so just be aware of it when going into this if you're not familiar with her shows so that it doesn't come as a huge surprise.
