Loved it,

Keith R.A. DeCandido kept me entertained for the hour and a half that I sat reading this novelette. I even went so far as to go out and buy the first book 'Resident Evil: Genesis' a couple of days later when I had time to get to the Barnes and Nobles. Give this book a try, you won't regret it. It is the perfect fast paced, high action compliment to the movie.
This book gives you a rounded set of scenarios that realistically combines both the characters' thoughts and feelings. You can also get a simulated feel of the situation. DeCandido's fan-work made me want to get inside the book and join in the adventure. Hail DeCandido!!!!!!!

Alice Abernathy wakes up naked and alone both at the start and the end of the book. At the start of the book she knows she has been changed. She realises Umbrella have opened the Hive in Raccoon City, and the undeed are out killing everyone.
No-one will make it out alive without Alice's superpowered help. She realises it is worse than that, as a scientist calls with a deal to get some of them out if they save his daughter. They have to do it before Umbrella nukes the city, and Alice has a superhuman opponent to deal with - Nemesis, her old ally.

I bought this sunday night...and had it finished by monday night...its like 277 pages and a rather quick and easy read, but enjoyable none the less...im so much more pumped about seeing the movie now...I loved all the characters but my favorite were Alice and Carlos Olivera. The action scenes are great..and one of the things i like best about reading the books is that you get to experience what the characters are thinking in movie scenes...anyway I loved this book...read it!

Decent book, better if you haven't seen the movie,

As a book, this is a decent book. As a book based off a movie, I don't see how it got so many good reviews when Resident Evil: Genesis didn't get as good reviews, at it followed the movie much better. After watching the movie, then reading the book, Apocalypse isn't a very good book. Too many details are wrong, and apparently the author doesn't know his weapondry very well. First of all, he keeps saying that the Nemisis's main hand weapon is a rail gun, while in the movie it is a chain gun. This would be acceptable if it wasn't for the fact that he describes it and the way it fires is a perfect description of a chain gun. And saying that the man in a cowboy hat on the roof of the building with the S.T.A.R.S. agents is sniping off zombies with a shotgun is rediculous, as you can't snipe with a shotgun. And my final complaint is that the author for some reason changes L.J.'s guns from two gold custom handguns to an Uzi for some reason. Though the book isn't entirely without redemption. The author does go into good detail about Matt's conflict with the Nemisis, and the back ground of a couple characters, including linking Jill Valentine to the video games. But that is about it. It is hard to believe that both this book and Genesis were written by the same person, and as a huge fan of the Resident Evil series, I was fairly disappointed with this book.

Worth Reading,

This book helps fill in the gaps of the movie and any unanswered questions you might have had. (An exp. How did the t-virus end up spreading from Raccoon City if it was quarantined? A doctor that had been checking who was infected and not infected brought the t-virus through the barrier before it was closed.)The author makes this short novelette intriguing by incorporating the thoughts of all the characters. Including Matt, who turns out to be Nemesis.
Only problem I had while reading this were excerpts and repeats from the first book Genesis. It was annoying at times reading over the same stuff. Otherwise I still recommend this as it is worth reading.

It was just o.k.!!,

I gave this book 3 stars & here is why: First there is way too much repetition in this book. If you had read the prequel Genesis like I did you would notice that in some places in this book were just straight copied from that one. I was like didn't I read this before. Second: Chapter four had one cuss word literally over and over again throughout the whole chapter. It really bugged me. Now I don't care if a book has some cussing in it but if it's over and over again I think couldn't this author have thought of something intelligient or imaginative to say. Third: some parts were slow. It did help me understand the movie better but Genesis helped me more. This one not very much some but not alot. I don't really think this book is worth it unless you are a RE freak like me then only maybe. The best RE books are from S.D. Perry. I really think this book could have been better. I would only recommend it for the hard core fan & that only if I had read the other books, watched the movies, and then lastly maybe read this book.
