DO NOT CONFUSE THIS MOVIE WITH ONE BY THE SAME NAME ABOUT THE END TIMES. IT IS NOT THE SAME MOVIE. NOT A GOOD MOVIE, NO POINT TO IT.

Just Shoot Me!,
This review is from: Apocalypse (DVD)
The title indicates a genre populated by movies such as "Armageddon" (seriously funny Bruce Willis) or "Deep Impact" (straight to the end of the World - almost). Well, only the title could indicate quality. The characters are cast in a grey, two-dimensional plot which offers nothing but repeated yawns. I actually didn't manage to view through in one night. As for technical quality on DVD: Forget it!

Possibly the Worst Sci-Fi Movie Ever Made!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Apocalypse (DVD)
A worthless plot combine with truly awful acting in the dazzling rendition of mindlessness. If I had anything to do with this ridiculous waste of celluloid I would shoot myself. It gets 1 star mainly because there is no selection for "zero". Pass this one up unless you need something to wedge a table leg.

ONE STAR IS TOO MUCH,

I am a huge Sandra Berhard fan, but honey, this is the worst movie ever! Sandra is terribly miscast as a spaceship captain, and Laura San Giacomo is a horrible mess as a Shakespeare crazed computer terrorist. This is blackmail material for all involved!

Sandra Bernhard makes my skin crawl,

This was just awful. There's some spaceship that's carrying some explosive cargo or something. The ship's computer (played by Laura San Giacomo) goes insane and starts reciting Shakespeare. This sends the ship on a collision course with Earth. Since apparently nobody could care less if Earth is destroyed or not, they send Sandra Bernhard and a bunch of her loser friends to stop it. There's also some bad guys who want to take control of the ship. They're almost as stupid as Bernhard and her gang. The "computer hacker" bad guy plays a game of complete-the-quote with the computer, thinking it will unlock the security system. This is analogous to leaving the solitaire program loaded on your computer, and having a "computer hacker" think that if wins a game of solitaire, he will gain access to your system. Real high-brow stuff here. Bernhard, well, what can one say. She's got a personality like a toilet in a downtown bus station, and she's not nearly as attractive as any of her male cohorts (this coming from a heterosexual male). About the only - and I mean ONLY - redeeming quality of this movie is that one of the bad guys is a fairly hot babe who gets stripped down to her black bra before she's killed, but even she isn't nearly enough to make this thing watchable.
If you've ever seen a low-budget sci-fi movie before, you know the whole plot to this thing, so I won't bother getting into it. Overall, just skip this thing.

just plain bad. It would have to be better by an order of magnitude just to qualify as a B movie.

After a few meteors hit the earth a group of people decide to renew faith, meet with loved ones, or question faith as the end of the world doesn't seem to fit too well in God's plan. What this film does is combine the bad script, bad acting and bad soundtrack of a classic Asylum rip-off production with the confused dialouge and theology of Faith Film. CG flames. The movie is primarily a bad drama with a science fiction background. Meteors are part of the end world prophecy. The earth passes through a meteor belt every 2500-3000 years. In circa 2250 BCE the Great Famine was blamed by such meteor strikes, In Revelation it was believed such strikes would once again happen and usher in a new age beginning with a strike from "Wormwood." This didn't happen until about 500 AD and the hits the earth took was relatively minor. The next go around won't happen until about 3000 AD or so. I would recommend one avoid the film.

This evokes some concern over how psychotic people can turn and davastate plans for a normal event.
