Book Description

Dr. Dora Adler's life has been in disarray since the beginning of the zombie apocalypse, but when she gets bitten by one of the undead, her whole world is turned upside down. Held captive in a secret underground lab, the tall, muscular hunk in the next cell is her only hope for salvation. Unfortunately, he claims to be a werewolf. Yeah, and she's supposedly a witch.

Dirk Gunderson is an alpha Arbor pack werewolf. Captured and collared, he's sold to the zombie lab in hopes his blood serum can create a vaccine. He needs to escape, but not without the hot little brunette witch.

In the midst of enemy werewolves and the hordes of undead, Dirk and Dora's sexual tension ignites a blaze hotter than the desert highway. Along their journey, they battle the inevitable: a werewolf must never take a witch as a mate.

When the world is ravaged by a global zombie pandemic, Dr. Dora Adler is bitten while working at the hospital. Held prisoner in an underground laboratory, her only hope of salvation rests in the hands of a creature she never knew existed -- a werewolf!

Dirk Gunderson is an alpha werewolf, kidnapped and sold to the underground laboratory where researchers plan to experiment with his blood to test for a cure for the zombie plague.

Ms. Gordon has created a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies with a gritty realism and intensity that draws the reader immediately into the story and never turns them loose. The action, danger, and sexual tension continue to rise along with the stakes as Dora and Dirk struggle to overcome every obstacle they're confronted with throughout the course of the story.

I won't give away any spoilers here, but I will say for anybody who is a fan of The Walking Dead, this book is for you! There are plenty of twists and turns, plus loads of zombie, and smoking hot romance. You won't be disappointed with this story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Apocalyptic Moon February 15, 2013

I read about this book on facebook and after reading the description decided to check it out. Although there were no reviews written and I don't pick a book based solely on reviews, they do help. I decided to get it anyway and am happy that I did. I really enjoyed this book! It was a good story and kept my interest from start to finish. The characters were well written and the book moved along at a good pace, nothing felt rushed or dragged out.

I'm happy I took a chance with this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Take me to the Apocalypse on that Bike! May 3, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Where was this gem hidden? How didn't I find it before? I'm a paranormal junkie who loves a good end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it theme! Apocalyptic Moon has it all! Werewolves, wait, let me re-phrase that, a HOT Alpha werewolf, a strong female who lives under a family curse of an early death, who discovers she is more than a mere human, humans acting inhumanely, and zombies. Add to that, the fabulous writing talent of author Eva Gordon, who has nailed this story to the wall and I'm in book heaven! Zombies are taking over the world with just one bite, infecting humans, turning them, one by one and science has found no cure. Dora is a doctor in a family where many of the women die on their twenty-seventh birthday, and guess where the book opens? Yep, Dora's birthday and she is waiting for the grim reaper to show up, anytime. Instead, she is bitten by an infected zombie with Z-Phage (the virus) and does not get sick so she gets shuffled off to a super-secret underground facility where she gets to be a prisoner/lab rat. Dirk, a strong alpha werewolf is captured and brought in because werewolves are immune to the Z-Phage virus, also. In spite of the circumstances, when Dora sees his hotness through the glass that separates them, she finds a plus side to this nightmare! (Bad Dora...;) )

After discovering that they can communicate telepathically, Dirk and Dora plan their escape, which is about all they seem to be able to agree on. Will these two hard-headed people succeed in saving themselves before they strangle each other? What is the mystery of Dora's immunity? Is there more in the cards for them, together as a couple or will that be impossible? Will they find their HEA, in spite of the world crumbling around them?

3.0 out of 5 stars Feels like a bad sci fi movie March 13, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
First things first, I have not finished the book yet. It drags and drags (way too wordy) with a bunch of sillyness happening and im not sure if it's worth it to continue. Im not saying the book is horrible it has 5 star potential but a 3 star execution.

Starting off I was really excited about this book. I really liked how well put together the first few chapters were. It felt like someone really spent time creating the storyline. It was like walking dead + Blood and chocolate.

However my excitement started to wane maybe 5 minutes after Dirk and Dora met. My issue- sarcastic Dialogue, pun type Dialogue, and telepathy. The dialogue is CORNY and unrealistic for the situation that they are in. The first few quips were okay. A little light sarcasm also okay. Somehow, the dialog went from okay to downright annoying. The telepathy was introduced in a way that could have been okay. Instead it instantly cheapened the storyline. There could have been a more realistic apprehension about a voice or conversation in her head. Hell, there could have been more of a mind shattering revelation that she roomed next to a werewolf.

I was somehow lost when the building became over run by zombies. when did she input the numeric code to open her door? Is the numeric code the same for all of the doors? one second the are seperated by glass and the next their hands are touching. This whole scene was a jumble!

The betrayal of Dr mansfield, dont get me started. Another thing that could've been done much better, the anticlimatic death of Dr Mansfield. I expected a little more than dirk throwing a rock at his head and letting the zombies have a go at him. With all of the feeling he felt towards Dora, it should have been more personal.

Insert more CHEESE here.
