Editorial Reviews

Review

(www.wissenschaft-online.de)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Summary of Project Apollo, April 11, 2006

This review is from: Apollo: The Definitive Sourcebook (Springer Praxis Books / Space Exploration) (Paperback)
Excellent material covering all both unmanned and manned Apollo lunar programm flights. This is definitely not a technical stuff, this is factographical and chronological history of each of the Apollo missions from preparations to recoveries mapping all flight events in detail. Equiped with high quality b&w photos and a lot of tables covering - sometimes rather exotic - things like astronaut personal weights before and after the flight, rocket fuel consumptions and many others this book is a valuable source of Apollo missions facts. Highly recommended to all who want to have all basic flight informations in one place.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent reference guide of all Apollo test and lunar mission facts, January 24, 2009
This review is from: Apollo: The Definitive Sourcebook (Springer Praxis Books / Space Exploration) (Paperback)
I found this book to be very interesting in the way the authors broke down every aspect of the Apollo tests to the final lunar mission. The exact mission assembly and actual mission timelines are quite interesting to read. The year by year costs. The breakdown of mission status, accomplished tasks and cross section of landing geology is good. Illustrated with decent quality black and white photo's. Lots of neat facts if you are interested in the lunar missions. The price is steep..I bought a used copy. I am glad I did as it was a welcome addition to my extensive Apollo library.
