What a great C.D. I had this in cassette form years ago and wore it out, its great to find it again. It really captures Hall & Oates at there best live and when you mix in temptation songs, its just great. I have only 1 Hall & Oates CD and this is it.

When I found out that Hall & Oates' "Live at the Apollo with Ruffin & Kendrick" was being re-released, I said FINALLY! There are many live albums in the rock and soul era that have been outstanding, such as "Frampton Comes Alive", "Wings Over America, "Kiss Alive", "Love You Live", "The Song Remains The Same", etc. but this live album, with the amazing Temptations medley and some of the cool '80s hits by Hall & Oates, is just so special. It's just that not many blue-eyed soul singers can do this an the Apollo is such a perfect venue. You gotta miss the talent of David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks, it's not the same without them. Enjoy...this album is amazing!

This remastered version of this now old CD is worth the entry price for the Motown medley (which you can also get on the new 2-009 Hall and Oates box set) with Ruffin and Kendrick. Forget the artwork (it's rubbish), get past the 80s big hair, and listen to what was a great show. Makes you wonder if they will ever re-release the video of this show (on VHS many years ago) on DVD?

If you are a Hall and Oates fan, or a Motown fan, you will really enjoy this CD. It covers some great old Motown classics, as well as some great Hall and Oates songs. Even if you have your Hall and Oates collection complete, there are a couple of songs on this CD alone that make it worth buying, especially the recording of Adult Education. You can really feel the energy in this CD - LOVE IT!

The only complaint I have with this album is its relative brevity. This is Hall & Oates at their energetic peak, and joined by David Ruffin and Eddie Kendrick on some great Motown tracks ("Get Ready, "Ain't Too Proud To Beg," "The Way You Do The Things You Do," and "My Girl").

There are two fantastic performances of classic Hall & Oates in this collection that make it a worthwhile buy (not to mention the classic "Apollo Medley" mentioned above): "Everytime You Go Away" and "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)." "I Can't Go For That" is the album's pinnacle aural experience. The music was tight, the beat was right. This recording of their Top 10 hit exceeds by far the great studio version.

"Daryl Hall, John Oates: Live At the Apollo With David Ruffin & Eddie Kendrick" = A must have disc.
