I have five of these pots (four white, one green). Three of them are used hanging and the other two are used as planters on tables. Everything I've put in them just thrives. LOVE LOVE LOVE these. A few things to mention:

After a few years, the gold ring at the top started to rust and chip and the rope gets super dirty. I replaced the rope/ring hanging parts with Green Hanging Flower Pot Chains ($2 at my local Ace Hardware) and all is good. I chose green to match plant foliage.

The previous poster was definitely correct that as soon as you fill it, it's extremely heavy so make sure you have it hanging from a very strong hook.

Apparently the company sells little "doors" that you can click into place to help with mosquitoes, but I've never had a problem with that. I do have mosquitoes, but I've never seen them go into the openings. It also attracts frogs. :) Even hanging from the overhang under my roof, sometimes when I go to fill them with my hose on "stream/jet" a little frog jumps out of the hole. :)

I originally bought the white pots (to match my house trim), but after a few seasons they were extremely gross looking. This is the first summer that I spray painted them with Rustoleum Metallic Spray Paint in Oil Rubbed Bronze - GORGEOUS color!!! Seriously wish I had bought brown to begin with. It blends nicely with just about any plant I put in them. Ditto for the green pot - that one looks just as good as the newly sprayed brown ones do.

Last thing I must mention... They don't handle ALL DAY SUN...

Don't plan on putting too much soil in these planters, they can't hold the weight. The cords are held to the rim of the pot by thin plastic clips. Less than one day after hanging mine, one of the clips snapped, one came out and the pot tipped out. The clips are way too thin, and are thus "the weakest link". Whoever designed this made a sturdy pot with a reservoir, meaning it could hold a lot of soil and water weight, They attached a decent cord and metal loop for hanging, and then held it all together with pathetically weak plastic clips. OOPS!

Well, I am so happy I purchased these planters! I hung them outside windows that are not convenient to water. After reading all the reviews in which people had trouble and warned about the clips that come with the hangers, I knew I'd need to find a solution. And I did, a very simple one. I took the clip off, used a hook to pull the braided rope thru the hole, and replaced the clip underneath the rim of to pot to hold the entire planter. It worked! it is good and sturdy and supporting my heavy hanging baskets! YAY!!! and I didn't have to buy anything additional to do it. So happy! :)

Great hanging planter. Can be watered from the top or the bottom. The hanging baskets you get from stores never have a bottom for catching excessive water so they have to be carried to the sink or tub to be watered, big pain if it is a big plant. With this planter I water a little from the top and fill up the bottom trap and it lasts for 10 or 14 days. I even bought extra ones and take off the hanging part for table top display. Looks best in terra cotta.

The pots are very nice looking(as plastic can look), and keeps plants moist for long time. You have to know one thing - when filled with water, pots are very heavy, so the surface to hang from has to be solid.I tried to hang from these metal posts you stake in the dirt, and they would just bend down to the ground. They work nicely in my balcony.
I hope they will last longer than my metal/coconut fiber pots, because water ate through the metal in 1.5 years.

Purchased these for my greenhouse and they look great, maintain moisture for a long time and my strawberry plants seem to love them!
I will upload some pics for this product after I finish this review.

I did not buy these on Amazon, but at a local retailer for almost half the price on sale. I bought a few more the other day and they were still $3 cheaper than Amazon's pricing.
I had to knock a star off for that. However, if the price doesn't bother you, these are excellent hanging planters!

I came to Amazon looking to buy a bunch at a discounted rate, but I guess I'll have to wait for them to go on sale again!

I get my plant in it and go to carry it to where I was going to hang it and the plastic clips holding the cords the planter is hung by, broke. Now I cannot hang it up. So be aware that it's held together by plastic clips and a heavy plant it will not hold.

Very poorly made - plastic hooks are used to connect the rope to the planter. These plastic hooks were broken before even removing my product from the box. So, I ordered a replacement. I was disappointed when the second one had the exact same issue. Now I am expected to send these products back and pay for return shipping!
