I was extremely disappointed with the Appollo 135pc tool set. It reminds me of a toy set I bought for my son when he was 10 and wanted to help Dad with repairs. The pliers and wrench are too small for my grip and the hammer is smaller than I thought it would be. If you're looking to hang up some pictures this would be fine. But if you're looking to do more than that I would not recommend this set.
FOUR MONTHS LATER: I've been using my tool kit quite often. I haven't used everything, but I'll tell about what I have used.
1. Cordless drill: First let me correct myself, this is NOT a drill it's a cordless screwdriver (even thought they call it a drill). If you want a pink drill, they sell them on ebay. The origianl company is in the UK called pinktoolbox and part of the money goes to breast cancer just like the apollo line of oink tools. As fars as this cordless driver goes, I wish it had a bit more torque. But it can do light jobs. One of the many tasks I did was assemble a stand for my mother's new digital tv. I also hung up picture, ect.Read more ›
When receiving this as a gift, there was a large red piece of paper in the package that said NOT to contact your store where you bought it if you should run into any trouble. Instead, call Apollo and they would help you. So I called their hotline and the woman on the other line told me that I would need to send the screwdriver in to their company so they could assess the problem. This was fine I thought. So I asked how they handle paying for the screwdriver to be sent to them. She said they don't pay for it. But, I said, it isn't my problem that the screwdriver is broken. It is the company's fault so they should pay for shipping either way or provide a new screwdriver. She said no and said, "It doesn't cost very much. JUST DO IT!". I said that didn't make any sense and that I was going to just return the gift to Amazon because they would pay for a product to be sent back that was defective. And that I would also not recommend Apollo tools to my friends. She said very loudly, "Fine, you do that!" and hung up on me.
I was very impressed with Amazon's customer service. They took the whole set back because of the defective screwdriver and paid for shipping and everything. Instead I got another pink tool set made by a different company and it has turned out to be excellent!
