This volume contains the papers of the "Groningen Workshop on Hellenistic Poetry 4 : Apollonius Rhodius" (Groningen, 2-4 September 1998). During the workshop a first draft of the papers was discussed and commented on by an international group of specialists in the field of Hellenistic poetry. volume contains a wide range of articles and thus provides a survey of current developments in research on Apollonius. Several articles show how recent developments in modern literary criticism or linguistics can lead to new or more refined insights in our understanding of Apollonius' poetry.
