Interesting Introduction to Pauline Scripture,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Apostle on the Edge: An Inductive Approach to Paul (Paperback)
This textbook aims to create context in readers' minds for the books of the Bible regarding Paul and so create a portait of him as a person. Cosby uses countless historical sources in addition to Scripture to illuminate the text's meaning. Throughout the book he tries to keep the tone light as well as informative, which helps keep things interesting. Scattered throughout each chapter are questions and exercises ranging from simple reading comprehension to critical thinking. I personally have to answer them for my class, and while they feel a little redundant, I think they will help me remember the material. Each chapter is also followed by a list of books related to the subjects discussed, which could be great for students in need of research paper topics or sources.
