Cutting edge Heavy/Power/Thrash Metal, June 18, 2004
This review is from: Apostles of Defiance (Audio CD)
Eidolon are not a particularly well known metal band. I think the reason for this is because they rarely tour, not because of a lack of talent, these guys have lots of it!!!!
Glen Drover, the guitarist played in King Diamond for a while..
Eidolon play aggressive heavy metal with thrash and power influences. At a stretch they could be compared to Nevermore, but I think Eidolon are a much better band with better riffs.
The solos are incredible.
Pat Mulock does a great job on vocals, he varies from low to mid range to high, and he has a lot of power.
The production on this disc and all Eidolon albums is as always top quality. Eidolon have their own studio and have obviously know what they are doing. Every instrument is crystal clear. THe distortion from the guitars is razor sharp!!!!
The songs on this album are great, although I think that the last album, Coma Nation was a slightly more well rounded effort, and probably their best work to date. Still, this album is a 5 star masterpiece and you can't go wrong with it.
