4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad July 26, 2013

Nice little blow up the tower game. A tad bit difficult to set the dynamite with fat fingers. But not so difficult to be annoying. There is no IAP in this app. Yes, there is a shopping cart button, that if the other reviewer had actually bothered to try will take you to a 'store' where you can purchase 'super bombs' with coins. Coins you earn IN GAME after successfully completing a level. PS, if this app did have IAP it would have the billing permission, which it doesn't.

3.0 out of 5 stars "Work in Progress" July 26, 2013
Verified Purchase
"Work in Progress" Have you ever seen that sign on a construction site? Constructing a piece of software is similar to constructing a building, minus the muscles, tans, and sometimes work crews. Which may be the case here: small developer? This game has potential, but is *far* from being a blockbuster.

There is a distinct lack of instructions here other than a couple of inadequate basics. For instance, it doesn't tell you until a couple of levels in that the yellow bags are 'superbombs' that you shouldn't use. They never do tell you what the green gift box in the upper right does, nor do they explain what the three symbols mean.

Here's what I've learned so far:
You place bags of explosives on beams, but only one bag per beam. The bags explode in the order in which you place them. You don't have to drag the explosives from the bottom; instead, choose your explosive type (red, trust me) and touch where you want it.

But there are a lot of coding problems. For instance, for half the game I was dragging from the bottom across the screen. I'd get an endless "you can't place explosives here", and I found it quite frustrating to try to place explosives. Only by accident did I discover you touch to place explosives. The developer should not have triggered that warning until my finger was lifted. There are other small examples of where code should be optimized.

Praetorianus noted the silliness of the 'Superbomb' purchases. While it hasn't taken much time to get nearly halfway through "Earth" (without using any Superbombs), it took a good 30 minutes to build up enough coins to buy just one Superbomb. Keep in mind, I'm 25% finished with the game! The store allows you to buy Superbombs in bulk, up to 50 for 5000 coins.

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit repetitive but okay July 26, 2013
Verified Purchase
Ok, the idea isn't all that bad though simple: you have to level a building by placing explosives. If you calculate it right, you win.
BUT: While ordinary explosives replenish, you have to earn extra for additional ones if it won't cut it.
You earn maybe six gold or so per level but it's 200 to "buy" anything.
It takes a long time to earn that.
Tip: Don't waste any of those "superbombs", use the regular ones as long as they are enough.
Not that the game itself is so hard you need it often.
You can even access different areas from the start.
Still, I'd wish for more variety.

The Amazon App Store Free Paid App of the Day for July 26, 2013 is Demolition Master Pro from AppMania.

This is an Android port of Demolition Master Pro by Appmania. It is one of those popular online blow up the building physics type games. Demolition Master Pro here was originally designed by Appmania for Apple's iOS operating system which Apple uses on their iPhones and other Apple branded devices. Since I do not have an iOS version of this game I have to speculate what might have been lost by Appmania, the app publisher, when they built this Android version out of their iOS version.

The game's graphics and interface seem about average which is not that surprising after realizing that this game wasn't built from scratch and is a port from another operating system. Two nice touches by the the app developer are present though in this about average quality port: The ability to zoom in and out of the playing screen and the ability to magnify where you are trying to place the bombs.

But the game falls apart when I learned from trial and error that if at first you don't succeed on a level retry again with the bombs placed in the same spot. Each time the parts of the building seem to go in different directions even though I didn't even move the bombs. Unless there is some unknown factor that I am not aware of that exists in this game such as wind direction, this makes no logical sense. Maybe there was wind direction in the iOS version as a variable that got removed from the Android port? That is my theory and I am sticking to it.

I also noticed right before typing these comments that someone else made a similar comment about the inconsistencies of the same exact bomb placements in their review.

it's not too difficult to figure out how to knock down the structures in this game. Although they get progressively harder, they're not THAT much harder. And although you're supposedly going from continent to continent, the backgrounds change very little. I think this is worth a couple of days at most, before boredom sets in..

3.0 out of 5 stars If at first you don't succeed... July 30, 2013

... then just try it again. Without adjusting anything. Apparently that seems to work most of the time if you're unsuccessful in demolishing the structure the first time. Developers should fix this so that you're 'forced' to a working solution for each level. Not worth buying.

The graphics are disapointing, the playability of the game lacks accuracy ...The idea of the game is good but the way how it has been made is not. I just disliked it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Boring
Graphics are meh, and the levels are not very challenging. Didn't take me more than 2 tries max on any of the levels I played. It just couldn't keep me entertained.

1.0 out of 5 stars Another DUMB program
Not much to say about poor programing. Just that they should try to do better with this thing. Maybe a complete rewrite might help.
