My granddaughter was going to do a report on Julia Childs and then also do a presentation. This was just at the right level for her third grade needs. Very cute.

I really wanted to love this book. We recently introduced our 6 year old daughter (who loves food shows) to Julia Child's The French Chef and we thought this would be a fun way to learn a bit more about Julia. The text was so hard to follow! Our child reads, but was a little distressed that she could not read the font. I read it to her, but not without a lot of "wait, which goes next?" Too confusing.

If you love Julia and you like a bit of whimsy, you will love this book! This would make a fun gift for the cooks in your circle of friends and family.

I should have paid attention to the review. This book was written for children. But I did read it and I did enjoy it very much. I will give it to my granddaughters when they are a little older.

This book so adorable and unique! I really enjoyed the Julia Child biography "My Life in France," and this book brings that story to life with such charming detail, illustrations, and joie de vivre! I am an adult, and bought this book for myself, but would recommend for children maybe 10 to 12 years old and up. The text is sophisticated, yet playful, and older children will have fun learning geography, recipes, new words in French, and, of course, about an inspiring and pioneering woman and chef. I just LOVED this incomparable and wonderful book- highly recommend!!!
PS: The illustrations are so charming, I am purchasing a second copy to frame a few pages as 'prints!'
