lit,
This review is from: Apple 4gb iPod Mini-Silver M9160LL/A (CD-ROM)
the i-pod works very nicely. No problems. The only reason I stopped using it was for a bigger one . I bought an 80gb. Otherwise this one is very nice.

I bought it used and possibly my own mistake. But it doesnt hold a charge for more than 20 minutes. Take my advice and buy new. Then at least you can take it back when it starts to act up.

I was looking for cases for my old iPod mini and I found that they are still selling it, and think it a mad thing to buy such an old model for such high prices, because you can buy a new model of iPod for a lower price or the same and much more benefits.
I had my iPod for 6 years now, it works pretty good and the battery still holds for more than a couple of hours, the only problem I see with it is that sometimes it stops working and you have until the battery is dead or longer to recharge it and it would work perfectly again this doesn't happen with my sister iPod Nano 4 generation and she can see pictures and videos in her iPod. Since iPod mini is a pretty basic model it is heavier than other models and have some problems that the new version don't have, that is why I recommend you buying a newer model.

The best form factor iPod ever made,

Now that mine is upgraded to a larger battery and a 32GB Compact Flash drive, this is the form factor iPod made.
It isn't physically to small or larger and very very sturdy, especially with the silicon case I have for it. And with 32GB it has PLENTY of storage for music. I would buy another for a back up for when/if this one dies.

I have owned one of these units for long enough to need a second battery. I would recommend to have the battery replaced professionally rather than trying to do it yourself (cost around $61.00). Unit has held up very well to the normal wear and tear (I would recommend a case, but they are hard to find now).

Not bad but if you can afford it go newer,

I've had this product for four years and have had two of the problems mentioned.
After about 2 years it wouldn't hold a charge for more than 20 minutes like mentioned. It won't play songs purchased on iTunes sometimes. Sometimes it will and sometimes it won't. I just upgraded to an iPod Touch and LOVE IT! This one is much cheaper though and like another said get it new and be prepared for these problemes down the road. Otherwise it's a great player.

Could be better,

The iPod mini isn't a bad little personal music player. Unfortunately, it isn't a good one, either. It has a few issues.
Most significantly, many people (including me) have had problems with the iPod suddenly refusing to play music purchased from the iTunes store. Apple is characteristically unsupportive. Be prepared for some potential frustration. After a few months of use, the click wheel can get stuck. While many people love it, I would prefer some good old-fashioned buttons that have less of a tendency to clog up with the detritus of life. Overall, it has a good sound and is a decent unit for the money.

There is nothing that I could find wrong with the mini. This is for anyone who wants the classic first made mini. I loved it.
