Not included with the 20GB,
This review is from: Apple Dock Kit for iPod 4G (White) (Electronics)
The first review here is very helpful, but I believe there's a mistake. I thought it was important to note that this dock does not come with the 20GB 4g click wheel iPod. If you buy the 20GB iPod, this dock will be an additional $40 expense, which brings you almost halfway to the price of the 40GB iPod... which comes with the dock.

It does the job it is supposed to do,

This dock works specifically with the 4th generation click wheel iPods. The firewire and the usb cable needed to connect this dock to anything are included with the iPod unit itself.
It comes with both the 20GB and 40GB dock sizes. It does the following: 1. Allows you to stand up the iPod and connect it to the iPod charger (via the firewire). 2. Allows you to connect the iPod to your computer for syncing up with iTunes (via the usb cable or firewire if your pc has the port). 3. Allows you to connect to your computer speakers (via a 'line out'). The only slight issue I have with it is using the iPod menu system while it is resting in the dock. The dock is plastic, so there is a little give to it. I feel like if I don't go easy on it, I could possibly damage the dock. Usually I just take it out of the dock to make a selection, and then put it back in. It is a handy item.

Want to lighten your wallet?,

My gosh - it very much sounds that J. Freeman works for Apple, doesn't it?
Here's the lowdown on the cradle: I use it because it came packaged with my 30 GB ipod (one that I received a year and some months ago). It is very nice, but for forty dollars, I'd say it's very overpriced for what it does. Literally, the only differences when you buy this product are: -You save 5 seconds not plugging in the cable itself. -Your ipod is in a cool almost-vertical angle. If you want to look cool, feel free to lighten your wallet. But my opinion is, if it didn't come with the ipod, it's not worth your money. It does the job it says it should - which is close to nothing (compared to those without it).
