This charger is designed for every iPod EXCEPT the Shuffle. The Shuffle connects via USB, this charger uses FireWire.

Every iPod charges while connected to a computer via FireWire or USB 2.0, but this charger allows you to charge your iPod in a wall outlet. In addition to the charger you will need a connector cable. You can use the one that came with your iPod or buy a second one. Hook 'em up, plug it in the wall and get on with more important things while your iPod charges.

For international travelers, the plug pops off and you can purchase the correct plug for the country you will be visiting. Great feature!

I have an iPod Dock connected to my stereo and use an extra connection cable along with this plug to ensure that my iPod doesn't run of of juice durring parites and long playing sessions. I highly recommend the Power Adapter to iPod users who want the flexability to use their iPod on the road or in conjunction with a stereo.

Although this charger is no doubt expensive, it is definitely worth it if you bought an iPod mini or an iPod shuffle that did not come with one. With this charger, you can now charge your iPod, or shuffle, without being near a computer.

The AC charger charges much faster than attaching the iPod to a computer via firewire or USB. To charge an iPod, all you have to do is plug your firewire cable to the charger, and then attach your iPod. With the shuffle, all you have to do is plug it in (no wires to mess around with).

For those who do not know, when you plug in the iPod to the adapter, you can listen to it without losing power. Great feature.

Another advantage of this charger is that if you happen to travel outside the US to other countries, you can buy an adapter pack which will enable you to plug this charger into foreign outlets.

There are third party chargers that are probably cheaper but not only will those void your warranty, but furthermore, they might even mess up your iPod/shuffle permanently.

i got this at a decent price expecting it to work on my ipod touch 4g but when i plugged it in
it said it is not a supported charger and flat out wouldn't charge does anyone know how to fix this?
aside from that if things weren't going so well in my life right now id be pretty angry but eh whatever lol

I bought this power adapter for a couple reasons, but mostly so I can travel with my iPod without toting around my laptop in order to charge it. I also thought it be a good idea to have handy in general.

What I like about it most is that it is small and the prongs retract inside which is a nice feature. I just use the firewire that came with my iPods to connect it. It really seems to charge the iPod MUCH faster than using the computer. I actually use this much more often than my computer. I only hook it up to my computer in order to update playlists and songs, never to charge it anymore.

My only two complaints are that sometimes the firewire is difficult to pull out of the adapter. It kind of sticks occasionally. This is just a minor complaint and does not detract from its overall usefulness and durability. The other complaint is that it is a bit pricey for what it is. Overall, though it still deserves five stars because it works very well and is small and compact.

It sucks that my ipod requires a firewire usb cord and a firewire power adapter, however, at least something worked! This solved my ipod issues. It arrived quickly and served it's purpose! Very happy w/ it.

This is all you need to charge that old ipod. You have to have it to charge it. The oleder ipods do not charge via usb only via this charger and a firewire....

i am so happy to see someone still offers this thing!! when i had came across my old ipod it didnt have the charger, so i had to search the world. lucky me! amazon never fails!!!

I got this product sent twice because the first one doesn't work the the second they sent me worked. The seller did a good job in communicating with you if you have any issue with the product. This is what I call GREAT internet business and costumer service. Works great with charging my ipod.

When I travel I always take my I-Pod but I don't always want to take my pc. This charger is great for those times - but be aware you will also need to purchase a firewire cable to connect your I-Pod to the charger (the cable that comes with the IPod to hook to your pc does not work with this charger). Charger and cable are small and easy to carry. Just plug it into any outlet and it will charge your I-Pod. When first gen I-Pods came out, these chargers came FREE with them but I guess they figured they could make more $$$ selling them as a stand alone item.
