Apple iPod nano 8 GB Green (3rd Generation)

A really nice iPod, After alot of investigation into this, we wanted to buy one for our daughter. She has been wanting the apple iPod 4th generation. But after looking into the differences between the two I like the generation 3. The new model has had alot of problems, and you can not control it like you can the 3rd gen. Just seems like other than the thinner design, it is more trouble. And after my daughter got hers she really didn't mind the shape, she just really love's it.
So we highly recommend the Generation 3 model..

Purchased this Nano for my wife for Christmas. She loved the 3G Nano she had and had no desire for any of the new units, so I wanted her to have what she wanted. Got the Nano in a sealed case, all looked good and unused. On the first battery charge, a spot appeared under the glass on the display like there was moisture in the Nano. It did not hold the charge and was unusable. Brought it to an Apple store and was told the unit had been used/registered before. I had them swap it out with a refurbished unit with a new battery. The unit from Apple works fine. From now on, if I ever need or want an older model of something Apple, I will always get it from Apple. I did not bother to work with the seller on getting this one fixed. Didn't have the time or energy.

The 3rd generation Nano is difficult to find, but don't pay 250$ for a "new" one. I just recently purchased one to replace mine, because I love the style of the 3rd generation. I bought one at the Apple website - it has a new hard-drive, exterior, and most importantly is covered under Apple's 1 year coverage. Definitely worth the $99 I spent.

Purchased this about 2 weeks ago, I love the color! I got the 8 GB Green version. It holds all of my music, and is small and very portable. The clickwheel is fine, but I do agree with others who say it does feel a little strange in your hands at time (since it is so square). Please do not be like me, and GET A SCREEN PROTECTOR IMMEDIATELY! After only 2 weeks of careful use, I have a nice scratch down half the screen. I now have a screen protector on it, but I didn't believe that it would get scratches so easily! Apple should be able to fix it, this screen is WAY TOO DELICATE. Other than that it does what it says. The screen is nice to watch a music video or two, but I probably will not be watching any movies.

I saved for a very long time to buy this iPod. Originally I thought I wanted pink but green ended up being cheaper.
While we're on colors, I will mention that in the picture, the green looks VERY different from what it actually is. I would describe the actual color as being a almost hunter green, a dark mint.
The sound is PHENOMINAL. You'd think it wouldn't be, coming from a thing that is a mere 3 inches high! The earbuds that come with the iPod have wonderful sound, and even though I have very small ears, they don't hurt as long as you don't push them in far. When I go running, these stay in better than any I've ever tried! So if you're thinking of buying earbuds before you try these, wait!
The iTunes software is a bit messed up, but it's very easy to sync songs (only taking about 30 seconds for 8-10 songs).
The click wheel works perfectly for my small hands, but any bigger hands probably wouldn't be as comfortable as with mine.
To keep the back from getting scratched with general use, I keep the plastic thing from the original box clipped onto my iPod, it works!Especially since I haven't gotten around to buying a case for it :-).
When I sync it, I take the plactic thing off (because you can't put the USB cable in when it's on), but to keep the back of my iPod from getting scratched from all the dust on my desk, I put it on a towel or washcloth. Battery life: is extraordinary! I've listened to it for about 5 hours so far, and the battery isn't even halfway used! And it doesn't take very long for it to charge up again when you hook it up to your computer.

Overall, five stars for the product, I love it!
about 4 1/2 stars for iTunes.

This iPod is awesome, buy it! Especially while the price is low ;-)!!!!

For those of you who know "Nano Serrat" it is fantastic because I can listen to "Nano" in my ipod nano. It is a fantastic product and I was impressed by the quality of the movies and music.
It is also lightweight, easy to take anywhere in any smallpocket. I got an armband for it and it works just great.
I have tried other MP3's including my husband's iPod. I prefer this by far because of its size.
Thanks again Apple!!!

i bought this right before thanksgiving for 180. i've been in the market of an audio player for a while: after the iphone came out i waited for the "iphone w/o the phone" to come out. i didn't think the price of the ipod touch was worth it but i wanted a flash memory based player, so i went for the nano.

i first thought it might be too small, but it's a great size and fits well in the hand. it has a pretty good battery life. it's also easy to use: no installing, just plug-and-play.

The first Nano we received was defective and was sent back to Apple (I know, I should have sent it to Amazon instead.) After we received the new one (another story altogether) it worked fine until we tried to download songs purchased from the iTunes store. After a week of trying everything, we finally were able to put the purchased songs on the iPod.

I have to say that the Nano is cool looking, with a nice display and allows for great organization of music, but it is a very particular machine. It took many frustrating hours to get it working properly, and all because it didn't recognize the iPod for music store purchases.

I think that for $200, they could at least include a protective sleeve. I also am not too impressed by the sound that the earphones produce.
