Works pretty good
I bought this to go with my iPhone. First of all- the pairing is effortless, and the accessories that come with the headset are worth a good portion of the purchase price. You get a dock for both the iPhone and the headset, as well as a cool USB recharging/syncing cable that will take the iPhone and the headset, too. So you get TWO docking mechanisms in the package...

Form before function
The only reason I give this 2 stars. The unit looks great! It is easy to pair (remember to turn the unit on after charging). The bluetooth battery indicator on the phone is also net. Did I say it looks good? Now the bad part it sounds bad. There is a constant hiss when the unit is active. The first thing you here when someone calls is hiss. If you walk 4 ft...

I bought this to go with my iPhone. First of all- the pairing is effortless, and the accessories that come with the headset are worth a good portion of the purchase price. You get a dock for both the iPhone and the headset, as well as a cool USB recharging/syncing cable that will take the iPhone and the headset, too. So you get TWO docking mechanisms in the package.
The only real complaint I have with the headset is that it picks up ALL the noise that is around you. If I am driving down the highway- whoever I am talking to can hear the radio, can hear the sound of the car driving down the road, can hear me drinking/eating, etc. Trying to use it in a place with lots of background noise (grocery store, for example) is difficult for the person on the other end. I am hoping that Apple will continue to tweak both the iPhone and this headset.

Now the bad part it sounds bad. There is a constant hiss when the unit is active. The first thing you here when someone calls is hiss. If you walk 4 ft away from the phone the audio breaks up. You can be sitting right next to the phone and get pops and clicks in the audio. Any real activity and the unit will come out of your ear. The battery is useless. if you can get one hour of talk time good luck. If this unit were $40 I still would have taken it back. The only way this product would be useful if it were included with the iphone for $20 more. Please don't wast your money. Apple can do much better than this. It needs a better buletooth radio a bigger battery and some kind of removable lightweight hook for around the ear. With these things it would still be the best looking unit on the market and it would work as an earpiece. Not as a piece of art. It would also be cheaper to manufacture. Apples first concern was looks and size. I am now using my big ugly 1st generation jawbone bluetooth. That i can talk on all day. Function before form. |
