I recommend this case. I wanted a case that looked like a natural resource such as wood, cork, etc. However, the reviews on the wooden, bamboo, etc cases said that the wood would split or warp. THIS case, however, is perfect because it is a man-made material (plastic) so that it won't split and yet it looks and even feels like wood. And if I were to ever accidentally get moisture on it, I could wipe it off easily.
The iPad 2 snaps into place and when I hold it by the smart cover and shake it, the iPad 2 does not fall out. So, it's secure. To pull the iPad 2 out of the case, you have to pull back a corner and carefully push the corners of the case off the edges and corners. Very easy, yet very secure.
I love how it looks like wood that has been scratched up and worn. I can set it on my desk and it looks like something wooden that has been used for a while. Looks so authentic. And the smart cover works to take the iPad 2 out of sleep mode.
The small flap on the back into which you would tuck the smart cover to prop the iPad up - it is flat. When I saw the photos, I thought it would get in the way of setting the iPad down on its back, but it doesn't at all. So don't worry about that feature.
The only real downside is that you can't prop the iPad up in portrait layout. Only landscape with this case. For me, this isn't an issue. For you it might be, so I mention it.
