Charges my Nano Just Fine!,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Apple USB Power Adapter for iPod (White) (Electronics)
I use this to charge my Apple Nano Ipod. There's no problems using it. The nano seems to charge quickly using this adapter! There's nothing else to buy, just plug in the usb 2 cable that comes with the nano into this and the other end of the cable into the nano, and then the adapter into your electrical outlet. I think it is a shame the Nano does not come with this included! Anyway, this seems to be a very good charging adapter. It's just way too pricey -- even for the high-quality construction of it.

Great companion for your iPod Shuffle,

This is an excellent way to recharge your Shuffle away from the computer in a hassle free manner. Just plug it into the wall and you are done, no wires. The plug also folds in for easy storage, just like any other Apple or Canon Elph charger.
Say you ran out charge in the gym or in a non-tech-savvy friend's house, just pull this out of your bag and ready to go in a few minutes! It can also be used to charge any other device which has a USB recharging capability. I have tested in on Palmone's Zire PDA so far and it works great. I am already looking for a USB cable for my Sony Ericsson phone. A possible to solution to mutiple chargers on your next trip. Maybe a little bit overpriced but it still is affordably priced. Nice addition to your iPod Shuffle!

This is a great thing for when you are traveling without your laptop. You can just plug it in at the nearest outlet, and charge your ipod (or whatever).
Great Idea

Overpriced - do some research!,

Don't waste $30 on this adapter. You can get an aftermarket one on Amazon for under $10! Just search by "USB Power Adapter." Apple is famous for this - selling add ons that are triple the price of something you can get elsewhere. They used to be able to do this before Ipod's became so popular and companies started making copies of their docks, chargers, cases, etc....

Advertised as 'Apple' but is in fact a cheap knock-off,

BUYER BEWARE!!! They are advertising an Apple USB Power Adapter. What they are shipping is a knock-off. I have the real 'Apple' version purchased from the Apple store so I know what it looks like. The model shipped from Tony Store has different style prongs (squared at the ends rather than tapered), the gray plastic and green dot are a much darker color than the real thing, the words 'designed' and 'equipment' are misspelled. They are spelled correctly on my genuine Apple charger. You can also look inside the end where the USB cable plugs in and see the actual internal parts are different as well.
In my opinion Amazon is aware this is going on and is just as guilty as the crooks selling it. It will most certainly affect what I buy from here going forward. One reason that I have shopped with Amazon in the past was the credibility that I believed they had earned. That is gone. For those (and I am sure they are out there) that will argue 'for that price you should have known', I don't believe that is valid. There are always overstock deals, and inventory purchased at deep discounts from companies going out of business that you can find available by shopping around. What is going on here is just false advertising by Amazon and the vendors they are aligning themselves with.

Must Have,

I found this extremely useful because before, when I went on vacation my ipod would run out of batteries and I wouldn't have any music for a few days because I couldn't get to a computer. You just have to plug it into the wall and put in it the cord that you put into your computer to charge it. You can use it while using the itrip or any other accesories. I would recomend this to all people expecially if you travel or are away from a computer for awhile. It is well worth the money.

You Want This,

IPod Owners: Once you realize that the battery life of an iPod is between 8 and 12 hours and you are no where near your PC, you are going to want this, trust me. This is a convient way for one to charge their iPod using just their USB cable and the adapter. It charges just as quickly as your computer and get this...if you have your songs on shuffle, by charging it from the adapter, it won't start the songs over. It picks up right where shuffle left off. That is its best feature by far! I can say nothing but positive things about this adapter. Its worth every penny. Pick yours up today!

Good deal, even if it should come with the iPod,

I was a bit annoyed when I opened up my brand new iPod to discover that I had no way of charging it if I was away from my computer. I had read previous posts regarding this fact and heard that a charger USED to be included with the iPod. Oh well.
Despite that, I was willing to pay the extra money for the convenience of being able to charge my iPod anywhere. It works with the USB cable the iPod comes with. You just plug the cable into the iPod and then plug the USB side into the USB port on the adapter. I would also suggest getting the car charger as well, if you frequently use your iPod in the car.

APPLE REALLY SHOULD BE SHIPPING THIS ADAPTOR WITH THE IPOD. THE IPOD CAN NOT BE CHARGED FROM A POWER MAINS WITHOUT IT! iPod is designed to go places. However it is only designed to live if it has a computer with a USB interface that it can recharge from. For this reason you need to own a computer if you want to use your iPod or there needs to be a computer at your destination. This is the one major flaw with the iPod that can only be overcome with this device - a very simple, albeit very expensive, USB to mains adaptor. This means you can recharge your iPod at any point that has a power mains, so you can in theory charge it anywhere, however you will need to find another adaptor if the mains standard changes but this is just the case of finding a local power adaptor from an electrical store which costs next to nothing when compared to this USB to mains which is a unique and rare adaptor and is not something I would count on the local tourist destination to have in stock. So if you want to take your iPod abroad, get this. If you really want to go all kitted out for the most extreme then you can consider the "World Travel Kit" that has six variations in the actual mains adaptor, but you still need this USB adaptor item if you get the World Travel Kit because it is the main USB connection that the World Travel Kit does not come with. The USB adaptor has a slot to change these mains. It comes with one mains connection depending on where you buy the adaptor (it ships with the local standard). It slips in and out easily enough. The USB connection is a little stiff and requires a good push or pull to get it in or out. To be honest I would not bother with the World Travel Kit and just find a local supplier who can find a mains adaptor that fits onto your USB mains adaptor type. It will probably be cheaper because Apple charge another $40 for the World Travel Kit. So it costs $70 for the USB to Mains and World Travel Kit in total. Those prices are almost criminal. I can understand paying for the World Travel Kit, maybe, but the fact that this needed adaptor is not with the iPod when you buy it just goes to show that Apple is still notoriously bad at providing customers with a full product. Discovering that you need a component is not funny. Lots of people get their MP3 players loaded up using another person's computer and library. The iPod is absolutely useless for these people unless they have this adaptor. Five star product though. It looks good and works. Has a nice mains changeable feature for those who want to go with the World Travel Kit. APPLE really need to advertise the fact that the iPod has NO MAINS CONNECTION.
