5.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful reference for news/sports professionals
I found this an excellent reference book - it's designed for news and sports editors moving to Final Cut and is very effectively focused on the features especially important to this use. 3.0 out of 5 stars This is a Pamphlet - Just So You Know
This is meant to be kept in one's purse or jacket pocket for on the fly reference. For the price, I would not purchase this item. It does not come with any additional DVD and the material within is FCP 101. Which is fine for those that need it, but for the price, you're better off getting the full-sized Training Series book, or "The Craft of Editing" also by Apple.

It's a step-by-step tutorial, which is best suited to this task. There is such a wide range of configurability and an exceptional range of sophisticated editing and effects power in FCP - it can be a learning challenge for those who've spent years in other editors. This book is an excellent resource for news and sports editors making the transition.
