The mic on these works great, picks up even soft speech. The earbuds are weird though and create suction when you seat them in your ears. Too tight of a seal I think. They made my ears hurt so I pulled off the rubber "skirt" and now they fit looser in my ears but don't make me feel like I'm popping my ear drums.

I'm not complaining too much because these were cheap and I got them to Skype at home, but if you're concerned about good fitting earbuds, these are not for you.

We purchased these for a second generation iPod Touch to use the Skype app and call family and friends. It works perfect, and while it is not exactly high fidelity sound, it will work in a pinch for listening to music, as well.

Very happy with this product. Cannot hear things going on around me while I am using these headphones. I would recommend them to others.

I wanted to use it with my PC and also my iPod nano.

With PC (not good): (A) Sound: Is totally flat, just right for hearing someone speak but not good enough to listen to music. I have used apple ear-buds, and my friend's Bose in ear-buds with my PC without changing any eq settings, n these were not so good.(B) Mic: not as sensitive as expected. Got to speak loudly, does not record soft speech when recorded with regular sound recorder of windows 7. But I find it good enough for internet calls.

With iPod nano (good): (A) Sound: I was amazed by the difference in the sound quality when I used it with iPod. When eq was set to treble reducer, it gave me same output as the apple ear-buds that came with iPod, except that these were louder than the apple ear-buds (something that I exactly needed while on street) (B) Mic: not applicable for ipod.

On the Whole: I Like them for my iPod and I have decided to use them only for vocal sounds with PC.
I had actually ordered them only for its Mic, and its just right for its price, but m glad that I can exploit its loudness when I go outside. Fits well in my ears. The asymmetrical (short(left) long(right)) cord is a bit irritating, although its necessary for mic usage.
I have also ordered Sony MDR-XB40EX 13.5mm High Sensitivity Driver Extra Bass EX Earbuds for deep bass effect and to be used with my PC. (fingers crossed)

PS: I am a frugal person, won't spend much for big brands, but definitely appreciate good music. I listen to rock n hipop, n these are not that good.

Before I decided to purchase this headset for my son, I researched it on Amazon and found many negative comments about the quality of the headset. Many people stated that it would break within a few days of using it. My son has had his since Christmas day and has had no issues at all. Thing is, he does not take care of things very well, no matter how much I get onto him about it. I have found these on the floor, and many times with things piled on top of them, but they have proven surprisingly durable! I would recommend this headset to anyone not wanting to spend the big bucks on the official X-Box set.

Got this in the mail and after a week of moderate use, it fell apart at the speakers. I was very disappointed but since it was so cheap, I just let it go...

For some strange reason, the microphone simply stops working after a few weeks. I've had a couple of these and always had the same problem. I'm pretty sure it's because I wear them in bed to lull myself to sleep with music; I'm sure tossing and turning eventually breaks the wire or something -- but I don't know why it effects the mic and not the earbuds themselves (which are quite satisfactory, btw).
