These dock adapters enable your iPod touch (2nd generation) to connect to the Apple Universal Dock and other products that use the Universal Dock system. Simply insert the iPod touch dock adapter into the Universal Dock, then plug in your iPod touch. When you want to connect another iPod or an iPhone to the Universal Dock, pop out the iPod touch dock adapter and insert a different one.

I have several older iPod accessories such as the older version of the JBL On Stage Micro Portable Speaker Dock for iPod (Black) and the Belkin Dock with USB Wall Charger for iPod. I am now able to use these older items with my iPod Touch 2nd Generation after purchasing the Apple iPod Universal Dock Adapter 3-pack for iPod touch (2nd generation). This is not a bad price considering you get 3 of them. I checked other websites and Amazon was the cheapest I found and the supplier, J&R Music and Computer World offers free shipping.

Works pretty well, snaps right in to the "universal dock" that came with a Samsung product, holds the ipod so that there isn't much strain on the connector.
