I have several older iPod accessories such as the older version of the JBL On Stage Micro Portable Speaker Dock for iPod (Black) and the Belkin Dock with USB Wall Charger for iPod. I am now able to use these older items with my iPod Touch 2nd Generation after purchasing the Apple iPod Universal Dock Adapter 3-pack for iPod touch (2nd generation). This is not a bad price considering you get 3 of them. I checked other websites and Amazon was the cheapest I found and the supplier, J&R Music and Computer World offers free shipping.

This item arrived on schedule and was exactly what I ordered - a set of three Apple Brand Itouch docking adapters for the second generation (2G) Itouch.

Works pretty well, snaps right in to the "universal dock" that came with a Samsung product, holds the ipod so that there isn't much strain on the connector.

Beware. I ordered this and was sent a pack of Nano 4G adapters instead. I've made four exchange attempts to get Amazon to send the right item, and each time they have sent another pack of Nano adapters. At the time of this review (10/16/2008), the product description is mixed, mentioning both the Touch and Nano adapters.

The Indian support people will happily exchange your order for another wrong one, but a request that they have someone check the stock in the warehouse to fix the problem was met with:

"Please understand that we have no way to go and physically check the inventory. The fulfillment centers where inventory is kept and shipped out are in different states than our Customer Service Centers. Amazon.com offers hundreds of thousands of items in our own inventory, and the fulfillment center buildings enclose millions of square feet. In addition, many of our fulfillment center processes are automated and computerized.

For these reasons, we are unable to check the physical details of an item for you."

My Jensen HD radio has an iPod dock, but did not come with an adapter for the iPod Touch 2nd generation. So I bought this adapter pack from Apple. I snapped the new adapter into the Jensen radio and then docked my iPod Touch 2nd gen to it. The sound was tinny - something wasn't right. If I wiggled the iPod forward, then I got full sound, but the iPod wouoldn't stay in that position by itself. So I am back to the old solution - an iPod power adapter and a cable from the iPod microphone jack to the Jensen AUX port.

The iPod Touch 2nd gen adapter works fine in the dock for my Phillips clock radio. And my iPod Nano works fine in both radios.

Same thing happend to me. I got nano adapters instead. I have not worked the issue with Amazon. DO NOT BUY!
