3.0 out of 5 stars DOES NOT WORK WITH NEW MACBOOKS, November 25, 2009

This review is from: Apple Video Adapter - Mini-VGA to TV S-Video and Composite Video (Electronics)
This adapter works fine for macbooks and other Apple laptops introduced before January 2009, but for the models introduced after that, it simply doesn't work. This is explicit in the Apple Store listing for the item but does not seem to have been listed here on Amazon. I purchased the adapter and now have to return it. It worked fine with my old Powerbook G4, but I want to view on my television Netflix 'watch it now' movies playing on my computer. The Netflix online viewer does not work on non-Intel macs like my powerbook.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really useful for your iBook G4, January 22, 2007

This review is from: Apple Video Adapter - Mini-VGA to TV S-Video and Composite Video (Electronics)
This is the adapter you want for your iBook G4. It's mini-VGA to Video, NOT mini-DVI to Video. I've used it to watch on my TV the many videos I have on my iBook G4. Also thanks to this I can watch my PAL DVDs on my TV. I think it's a really useful accessory. I think it's already discontinued, so better get it before it becomes very expensive.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Useful Video Adaptor for the iBook, March 11, 2006
This review is from: Apple Video Adapter - Mini-VGA to TV S-Video and Composite Video (Electronics)
I have used this Apple video adaptor with my iBook about a dozen times with two different televisions and it has worked flawlessly. For both DVD playback and presenting slide shows (from pictures in iPhoto) it has produce clear and crisp video. With both of the TVs I only had the opportunity to use composite video rather than the s-video connector so the results may differ when using that interface. The only negative for me was the form factor. While it is of a convenient size for packing with a laptop for travel, the relatively large weight at the and of a short cable made positioning of the adaptor awkward without using additional video cable between the television and the computer.
