5.0 out of 5 stars oem??
The charger is working great, however there is no apple logo on the charger that makes me wonder if it is truly OEM or not.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not so sure about Smart Parts USA
I ordered the product shown on the product page (rectangle with black label) but what arrived in the mail was the Apple 65w portable cable...which got poor reviews and has a short wire. Because I've now gone a week without a power cord (the Apple OEM frayed where the plug joins the wire as others have experienced), I am going to keep this product and take my chances...

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well but has similar weakness to apple product, February 2, 2010

I bought this in Oct '09 and It is now Jan 10. I need another one because the male housing that inserts into the computer has cracked and split. Up until this I was happy with the cord. I bought a cheaper version that doesn't work at all. Despite the weakness of these cords at the critical point of insertion, I will but this one again. I like that the lighting mechanism indicates charging status.

This product replaced my original powercord that came with the computer several years ago. I have had this cord for 6 months and it has totally fallen apart. I'm using my last minutes on battery to write this review and order a new powercord. The design is faulty and encourages cord breakdown with normal use. With my next laptop you can bet that will be an area I'll examine closely for durability.

The apple adapter that I had shipped to my daughter in NY was broken upon delivery. The part with the prones (in the real world) is detachable and re-attachable and this product has the prones GLUED onto the item which explains why the item sparks in the plug and almost burned down my daughter in law dorm room in NY. I headed to NY when she complained about the item sparking and being hot and on the way I stopped at Apple and just purchased the adapter from the Apple store and once I arrive at her dorm and compared the item it was OBVIOUS and CLEAR that we were SOLD a glued together broken adapter. I have tried contacting the seller and no response.

1.0 out of 5 stars Fake Product!, September 6, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Apple iBook/Powerbook G4 G3 AC Adapter Power Cord 65w (Electronics)
The AC adapter cord for my Apple Powerbook G4 cracked after 2 month that I received it. I was told by this seller that it was a genuine Apple product, but it had differences from my 100% genuine Apple power cord that came with my Powerbook. I called the Apple store and asked if they had a problem with their power cords cracking where it connects to the computer and they said "No" and told me that frequently fake Apple products had that problem. Very disappointing and will never purchase anything from this seller again!

This charger has broken into pieces TWICE-- I had to replace the first one only after a few weeks, and then the second one did the same thing.. broke apart got really hot and just cheap. AND the seller refused to take it back or give a refund. it's so not an APPLE charger.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality, February 3, 2010

Apple changed the plug on these years ago for a reason.

I have gone through 3 in a year.

The piece that plugs into the computer is extremely fragile.

I have a very old model Mac which I still love but, this chord thing is really frustrating.

Received an older Powerbook G4 from my daughter, who said she inadvertently threw the original adapter powercord away when she moved. This works just great! Half the cost of the one Apple sells. The more expensive one may have been necessary if i had a newer laptop but i would say try this one first.
