Why I Think The 2nd Generation Nano (8GB) Is The Best Of All Nanos,
By
This review is from: Apple iPod nano 8 GB AAC/MP3 Player Red (Product) RED (2nd Generation) (Electronics)
I believe that the Nano peaked with the 2nd Generation model. Generation 2 increased maximum capacity from 4GB to 8GB. The 3rd, 4th and 5th Generation models of course all have video capability. While the picture is crystal clear the screen is so small that it is impossible to seriously enjoy watching a movie on this device. I have watched a few on my G3 and G4 Nanos and realize that the video capability is more of a gimmick than a real selling point. Anyone who wants to watch movies on their ipod would be better served to get an ipod video or ipod touch. Of course you don't have to use your Gen 3+ nano to view video, you can use it to listen to music and it will display the album artwork on a beautiful, larger screen than the Gen 2 nano. Here is my problem with that - if you are like me, and you skip from song to song on your ipod either in shuffle mode or picking the song, the Gen 3+ nano goes through the battery charge very quickly because of the large bright screen. Unless you keep the nano in your pocket with the display off you will get nowhere near the published battery life. So for anyone who wants to use the nano for music only and doesn't want to constantly charge it the 2nd generation nano was the best model. Of course Apple doesn't sell them anymore (even refurbished) and one is forced to go the ebay route. Each subsequent nano release has more bells and whistles which don't really do much for me. If you want the small size of the nano and are just interested in the music you have to go back a few generations.

Price Mistake or Rip-Off,

Someone should report this listing to the FBI, this item is for sale at the Apple Store for around $100 new, do not buy from this Amazon listing.

Way to much for this, but if you want to toss some dough, step right up. Market Econ 101 at work. OH, the review is based on price. See the new Nano's cost way less.

This 8GB (PRODUCT) RED iPod nano is the greatest! I love using it for the gym and just all around; it is so convenient to use! The 2nd generation iPod nano is a lot more reliable than the 3rd generation nano in my opinion.

I think the reviewer who gave this a one-star rating because of the price must have this confused with a 2 GB or a 4 GB model. I've never seen this 8 GB model anywhere for less than $200. This is a terrific nano. Lightweight, easy to use and holds thousands of songs and photos.

This review is from: Apple iPod nano 8 GB AAC/MP3 Player Red (Product) RED (2nd Generation) (Electronics)
You can find these for $50 on eBay. Max. Don't be a sucker. These guys are ripping you off. That said, the 2nd Gen iPod Nano is the best in terms of battery life and form factor. Great product... FOR $100 OR LESS.

The person giving this justification must work for the company. $439 for an 8gb 2nd gen player LOLOL The new 8gb that play videos is only $149. Maybe if the thing had a gold case.

I LOVED it!,

The color is beautiful and it goes so nicely with my Prie Tunewallet Black with RED stitching. It is a class act. It didn't deserve that one-star review which was rediculous. It's about the PRODUCT, not the cost.
