HUGE waste of money!,

What possessed me to spend $30 on a rubbery piece of velcro?! I have no idea! I bought this thing because I was so paranoid about taking my new iPod mini to the gym, and I thought I should play it safe and get the arm band. HUGE waste of money! I should have just bought one of those wrist bands you can get at Target for $1.50 and clipped my iPod to it using the belt clip that it came with. That would have been just as effective as the "official" iPod mini armband, and I would be $28.50 richer than I am right now.

Destined for the back of a drawer,

I found the armband to be uncomfortable and inconvenient. I think the upper arm is just a bad place to carry an iPod. The added weight is distracting when I'm running. Even worse is any activity that requires me to flex my biceps at all, so lifting weights is out. Put it on too tight, and I constrict the muscle. Loosen it a little, and the band slips off. There is no happy medium. Also, the earphone cord gets in the way more when it's leading from my arm.
The belt clip that came with my iPod mini works much better for me. I clip it on the waistband of my sweatpants when I'm working out and it remains very secure, even when I'm running on the treadmill. And the cord stays close to my body, where it is far less likely to get caught on something. The only advantage of this product is that it lets you advertise to the world that you own an iPod mini. Big deal. My armband is destined to be forgotten in the back of a drawer at home.

I bought the armband when I got my mini ipod. However, the belt clip that comes with the iPod is perfect to clip to my shorts while jogging. You don't need this large, clunky armband!

GREAT product, BAD price.,

Thie armband is a wonderful THEFT DETERRANT. Though velcro, is a safer bet than the eprovided ipod clip.Putting on and taking off the arm band is just involved enough to prevent theft or loss. Before a theft could be completed, it would be noticed by the wearer. But, the amazon price is bad. Go to comp usa or microcenter.

I found the armband very convienient and comfortable. I even threw it in the wash a couple times (note: I have a front loading wash machine--gentler on clothes.) It compliments the Ipod very nicely and slides onto the Ipod very slick-like. As other have mentioned, it is pricey. That's why I gave it 4 stars.

Not As good as I thought,
This review is from: Apple iPod mini Arm Band (Electronics)
This Arm Band is ok...It will hold the mini Ipod in place when jogging or just using it casually. The only draw back is that is you dont tighted good it will eventually become loose and slip down from your arm. This is really annoying specially when in the middle of a jog. Otherwise the product is durable and looks good.

I hate it!,

Either I am idiot or this product is very poorly designed! It takes forever to get it just right, so that it won't slip off and still it feels uncomfortable and not quite right. Now they have them in sorts of colors, don't buy it, you'll just get annoyed everytime you want to use it, like me.

There is a better and much cheaper alternative,

There is no need to buy this armband. Just get yourself a length of two-sided velcro (There is a kind that sticks to itself.) Wrap it around your arm and attach your iPod to it using the belt clip that came with it. This technique is especially good for those of us with large muscular arms where standard arm bands (like this one) won't fit.

Good for what it is, but not in combination,

This armband is good for what it is: Something to keep your iPod mini secure while you're working out, or doing other activities you want to have your hands free for. The band is wide enough that it's comfortable, but it's not too big and clunky for a smaller person. The band itself is well built and secure.
My only complaint about this item is that if you use the iSkin to protect your Mini, you'll have to take it out of the skin every time you want to use the arm band. When I was going to the gym every day, this was a very large hassle. If you don't have your iPod in an iSkin or similar casing, this armband is great. As a note, it also doesn't have anywhere for the wearer to tuck in the extra cord from the headphones, which I've seen as a feature on some other arm bands. It's never been an issue for me, but might be something someone else cares about. As for the price, it is an Apple product. They always are a little more expensive.

I originally purchased this arm band from Apple when I bought my wife an iPod mini back in 2003. She is quite the fitness enthusiast, so the arm band got regular use over the past 4 years. The plastic finally failed, which I suppose is to be expected. She really like this product and asked me to find a replacement. Unhappy with fully enclosed arm bands made of neoprene, I simply ordered the same arm band, which is no longer available in Apple Stores. I expect it to last longer than the mini.
