I didn't even know they had other generations. I bought this one nice case on sale and a great price at the store but it didn't fit because it was 2nd generation. I have had trouble buying a case for my original nano. This one is silicon and there is a place to hook my lanyard earphones to it.

This case fits very well - nice and snug and because it's silicon it also doesn't slide around on surfaces, which is great!
