With Apple, you gotta buy the warranty. Not much choice. Don't want to be without it.

As with most apple products quality is not an issue. Apple stuff just works and if it doesnt and your not the only one with the issue... apple will take care of you. My experience with apple is this... if it is going to break it will do it within the first year. If it does not break it will last you at least 5 years before you have any issues with it. Even then some units apple has fixed for us outside of warentee and made sure that we were taken care of. Now with a laptop however... these things are tough but the traveling and constant useage can take a harder toll on them than the normal desktop units. It is well worth the extra few bucks to get this! I waited untill I had the money of course and then bought it here at Amazon for a speedy purchase. Amazon made it possible to get this faster than any other method i had available to me at the time. Thanks to them my powerbook 17 inch is safe for a few more years... I dont expect any problems with it however. After all it is a Apple product.
