If you buy an iMac, you should buy the AppleCare, it's that simple. For that matter you should but AppleCare for any Apple product you buy that it's available for. Don't gripe that the iMac is expensive enough and it should be included. Or if you want to gripe, buy it anyway. When I switched from PC's to Apple, I was like a fish out of water. I was on the phone quite a bit with Apple about the Time Capsule, Air Port, Apple TV, iPhone, iMac, MacBook, you name it. What's wonderful about Apple support is that it's easy to get someone on the phone pretty quickly, that speaks clear english, is knowledgeable and will stay on the phone as long as it takes to resolve your issue. When you know you have such a great resource at your disposal, there is no need to fumble around with online help or through manuals, you just pick up the phone. Ever try that with Dell?

Amazon is not willing to update the product specs about limitations in the fine print per each state use of the agreement. I had to get a full refund from Apple and buy it directly from them because Fla. wont allow applecare via 3rd party. Be warned. Call Apple first. Shame on Amazon for withholding important info.

AppleCare is worth the extra cash. With free telephone support that will walk you through everything, and then if that won't fix it, Apple will send an authorized tech to your home at no charge! And if needed replace the machine. I have not used it on this iMac, but I have used AppleCare for other items in the past.

Ordered the apple care from Amazon at a significant cost savings had I purchased it direct from Apple. Got free shipping to boot. Once it arrived, stuck the disk in, followed the directions, input my serial number of my computer, and the code from the apple care and viola! Done! Easy as that! Will also be buying my apple care for my new iPhone 4 from Amazon in the near future.

I had my Imac that is 2 years old die out 2 weeks ago, took to shop and they said Video card had died so they replaced it free of charge........that saved 300 bucks, a week later it did the same thing.......this time to be safe they replaced the logic board and the video card...............that would have cost about 1000 bucks retail..................just bite the bullet and have the safety net

They were very helpful on the phone, they do not replace an apple battery though (according to them) but they have been helpful with other issues for me.

The Apple warranty was exactly as promised and worked fine, I live in Florida and one review said it would not work here. it worked fine

Got this protection plan for IMAC 27". Received package timely. Could not activate plan online. Had to call Apple to get the plan registered. Otherwise no complaints!!

This is a review for all Applecare Extended Warranties. I have purchased many Apple computers over the years and the Applecare warranty is one of the best in the business. Yes, it covers your computer for an additional 2 years, but better than that, it allows you to call Apple for support on any issues you are having with OSX or the iLife suite. Their representatives are both helpful and patient.

Have purchased Apple Care in the past. Found it to be one of the best extended warranties I have ever purchased. Purchasing through Amazon.com is like icing on the cake, in that the same product is less expensive that I have been able to find anywhere else.
