5.0 out of 5 stars A unique and Smart Book, Quite Original
This novel written by a twenty something British author, Richard Milward, is not only entertaining, it is revalatory in its nature. It is an important book for this new, Empty Generation. Adam is an obsessive compulsive and Eve is a drunk and wild play girl--I will not point to the brilliant allusion of naming a book Apples and the main characters Adam and Eve. Mixed...

1.0 out of 5 stars Apples
Richard Milward is obviously a fan of Bret Easton Ellis. This reads like an unpolished version of Rules of Attraction. It also really reminds me of the british show, Misfits. So, if you take Kelly and Simon from Misfits and you throw them into a Bret Easton Ellis outline then you will have this book. I wish it was an episode of Misfits or a Bret Easton Ellis novel...

Mixed into this story of two lives destine to be intertwined with each other, are the small stories of life by friends and random people, to give the full scope of the party scene. This book invokes an entire Bourough, alive and vibrant and a bit dismal, this book is certain to be a cult hit, and a wonderful start to Richard Milward's career as a writer.

So, if you take Kelly and Simon from Misfits and you throw them into a Bret Easton Ellis outline then you will have this book. I wish it was an episode of Misfits or a Bret Easton Ellis novel. If it was, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have gotten bored and chucked it.

4.0 out of 5 stars a dirty, seedy, drug-fueled romp, May 19, 2009
This review is from: Apples: A Novel (Paperback)
This is a great read - reminded me a little of my youth - but with much more sex and violence. Very gritty. Mother's if you want to know what your child is up to at night - read this and be very afraid.
