5.0 out of 5 stars Great Interactive Game for the Whole Family
We've enjoyed the original Apples to Apples, and was delighted to see a new Bible version. Played it during game nite on New Year's Eve, where 3 game tables were set up and games galore to chose from. Our table played the Bible version Apples to Apples the entire night, and we kept having people want to join it or play it after. I bought 5 games as Christmas gifts, and...

3.0 out of 5 stars different than expected
I bought this for a bible bash I was having. I already had an original apples to apples, which I like quite a lot. The game is fun, but only about half the cards are bible related. The green cards mostly seem the same, and half of the red cards (maybe a third?) are things like 'rennaisance' and 'martin luther king jr.' and 'martin luther.' it is not like they do not have...

Our table played the Bible version Apples to Apples the entire night, and we kept having people want to join it or play it after. I bought 5 games as Christmas gifts, and it was well-received, with comments like - it is educational, fun, could play it at the church social, also great for our church kids group. Great product! Great gift idea! Everyone will want to play! Now I need to order one for me to keep!

This was a great game and my 11th and 12th grade bible study group really enjoyed playing the game. I would recommend it highly.

I have several Christian clubs at the college and this was the first game I bought for them. I noticed they were all work and no play, unlike the other college clubs, so this game gives us a break and brings us together with a focus still on Christ. The other clubs were amazed to see the Christian clubs actually had a Bible version of "Apples to Apples." They come over to see what the difference in the cards are - and join right in with us. I also bought it as a witnessing tool seeing that we meet right in the middle of the campus. Everyone likes playing Apples to Apples, the other clubs play the other versions all the time. I am glad they made a Bible version! So cool. We will probably get the Jewish version next to mix it up a little. :0)

We found this to be as fun, and even funnier than the original. We have both versions now and play both fairly equally. You really need to have a sense of humour to play this Christian version. If you don't, you may be offended. If you're easily offended don't buy this. For the rest of us who know how to laugh, this is a great, rated G, family game. I only have to disagree with the ages. I believe the box says 10 and up. My 7 year old can play both versions and loves these games. Although it's for 4 players and up, we sometimes add a 'dummy' hand when it's just the 3 of us. This helps keep the balance so my son doesn't pick based on who played a card- Mom or Dad HA HA! just good clean fun. Either version, or both, you can't go wrong.

4.0 out of 5 stars Slightly blasphemous fun..., July 20, 2010

Just as in regular Apples to Apples, it seems like the best (funniest) card pairings are always a little on the scandalous, outrageous, or ridiculous side. So here - except that "maybe a little blasphemous" is added to the mix. So - just keep that in mind.

And sometimes the winning card isn't really blasphemous, but perhaps not what you were expecting from "Bible Apples to Apples". Example: The winning card for the adjective "large" was "The Ten Virgins".

As a youth minister, I bought this game to play with the youth & adults of my Lutheran congregation. I enjoy games that create conversation, and this will definitely do that. Especially when one of your youth pairs the adjective "delicious" up with "10 virgins". There have been some genuinely good match-ups that I was excited to see the kids make, plus each noun card has a bible reference or fact about the subject. I think I'd be fine having an original copy of Apples to Apples on hand instead of this version, but it's a fun way to teach the bible and that's ma' job!

The green cards mostly seem the same, and half of the red cards (maybe a third?) are things like 'rennaisance' and 'martin luther king jr.' and 'martin luther.' it is not like they do not have a place in christian history becasue they do, but I guess I expected more cards such as 'daniel' 'goliath' and 'centurian' etc. The game just seems a bit less bible centric than I thought it would be.

Very similar to the regular edition game. The only major difference is that all the Hollywood type famous people have been replaced with Biblical characters or famous Christians.

I purchased this as a gift for my mom's women's Bible study group. My mom had played the original Apples to Apples version and liked it. The Bible edition incorporates fun into theological study. The group played according to the directions for a 4+ person game and then looked up and reflected upon the verse on the "winning card".

What a fun game! It is very interesting, whether there are 4 people playing or 10.
It's great for anyone, from 5 (if you can read) to 100.
