Ok, first of all, I'm going to assume you know the game. Great, lots of fun, etc, etc. These cards allow you to add your own things, like family member names, pets, animals, places, cities, and so on - which are not normally listed
With this product; (8 green, 32 red) 8 cards per sheet, 1 sheet of green, 4 of red Look just like the actual cards, and they provide a website for templates to print them Cards are slightly thinner, or not as stiff as regular cards, and of course, one side is not protected. I used that sticky film for protecting paper/laminate. Heck, I would like them to last, keep them clean from ink smear or dirt from hands. Keep in mind, most printer ink is water soluble, if you don't know, wet your finger (not moist, wet), and draw across a print from your printer. Water based will smear (HP ink), others will not (Epson ink).

About 3 years ago our oldest daughter asked for the game "Apples to Apples". Our family likes to play games together and with friends, so I bought it. We have played it so many times, and it has been one of the most fun games regardless of who we play with.
Sometimes the kids will suggest other words - good words when we play, so when I found these cards on Amazon.com I was really excited thinking about the upcoming holidays and the fun we'll have. I immediately knew I wanted to get them. There are 32 Red Apple cards, and 8 Green Apple cards. The green cards are for a broad subject, pulled by the person whose turn it is to choose the best red card to go with it. Everyone else has 7 red cards in their hand, and chooses what they think is the best, or funniest card to go with the green card. For example: say it's my turn to pull a green apple card, and I pull the card with the topic Dangerous, and my family puts down the cards Body Odor, Silly Putty, Worms, Cold Pizza, Poodles, The Far Right, Family Vacations, and Nine Iron. Given the way I play, I would choose Poodles. Given the way our family plays, the person who put in Body Odor would insist that's the most dangerous, followed by the persons who put in worms, the far right, and silly putty. Some, with not much sense of humor, might insist the nine iron would be the only possible choice. It really is a fun game, and especially when you enjoy each other and love the sense of humor of the others in the family. The game box says it's for ages 12 to adult, but kids far younger than 12 can play! Our youngest was really too young to play until he was 6, so we had someone team up with him each time we played. Now he's almost 7, very bright, and very able to play the game. He doesn't always understand the references to some of the cards, but not a problem - someone is always able to help. Besides that adds to the educational value of the game - references to things one might not have been familiar with before, or the definition of words one doesn't yet know. I believe it's helped him to be a better reader - his teacher says he's the best reader in his class. He also knows and uses words that aren't normally used by 6 or 7 year olds. There is a version for younger kids, but we never felt the need to buy the version for younger kids. I would say, if we happened on this game when all of our kids were 12 and under, then I think that would have been a great choice for everyone to get involved and play, but since our youngest is 6, the adult version works very well for all of us. These "extra" cards are blank, for the ink jet printer. So we can make up our own cards, according to what we think is funny. My plan is to give out the sheets of cards at Thanksgiving with instructions to finish the cards and bring them back at Christmas. My husband and I did feel these cards weren't as hefty as the original cards, thus a bit more likely to get torn, but they look just like the original cards in every other way. The original cards are a heavier card-stock, and I wouldn't have rated them down on durability as I did these. I wondered how well these cards would blend in with the originals. I was glad to find that you sign on to the Out of the Box website, type in the word you want to add, and print the card out. That way the font is exactly like the one on the original cards, and the new cards will blend right in. Although I am really happy to have these expansion cards, the cards were a bit on the pricey side. The only other downside, as I said above, is that they're not as durable as the originals.

This is a very cool product, but way over priced. It's much more expensive than buying the product already printed! I am producing a set for my family in France, with French words, and of course the name of the various people in the family, their hobbies and passions and dislikes... It's fun to personalize. It's quite easy to use their program for filling in the cards. We are fans of Apples to Apples because people from all ages can play, there is no right or wrong.

Like the other reviewers who love Apples to Apples, I also enjoy the ability to add customized cards. It's really fun to invent the words and then to surprise people when playing. The template is easy to use too. The only thing is that the cardstock is not as durable as the original cards, so I laminated the homemade ones. Now they don't fit in the box with the regular cards as well, but whatever. I still think it's a great product.

This product is fun! If you play the game, it's great to put in your own cards. I used them to insert names of TV characters into my existing deck. My friends were pleasantly surprised when they picked those cards.

Worked perfectly for us!,

I ordered the Apples to Apples Blank Cards to use as the place cards for my wedding since my husband and I met playing Apples to Apples.
They worked out perfectly!! Very unique. I recommend using a laser jet to print them off. Make sure you let the ink dry fully before touching them. Great item! I used the left over ones to make cards for my deck and my friends' decks of cards.

Apples to Apples is a great party game and it's fun to personalize the game with blank cards. Adding the new cards has been so addictive, that I jumped at the chance to the the laser cards.
The laser cards aren't quite as stiff as the cards that come with the game, but they are thick enough to shuffle and use with the original cards. Formatting them for using in the printer was a little time consuming, but totally worth the effort. If you're a fan of Apples to Apples, this is more fun that the other expansion packs because you get to make the game your own.

These cards are a must-have for any Apples to Apples addict. Our little group plays so often that we quickly exhausted the Party box and both expansion packs. These easy to print or write on customizable cards have been our saving grace and are of a similar card stock to our standard party box set. Definitely use a sharpie, and the inkjet printer is easy to use.
