This review is from: Appleseed: Prometheus Unbound/Book Two (Paperback)
Masaume Shirow's second Appleseed book definitely qualifies as one of the most complicated graphic novels there is. Even more complicated than Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, this book pulls you in and fills your though with some of the most complicated technological/political/scientific scenarios imaginable.
Every detail is accurate, and the fast-paced action makes it an engaging reading.
I credit this book in my starting graphic novel collection. I didn't even plan to buy this book. It just happens that once I read it, I couldn't put it down!

Appleseed #2 deals with such delicate issues as: Can we trust machine? Are humans programmable? Do we have the right to improve humans by mass brain-washing?
The layers present in this book is mostly a continuation from Appleseed #1, although they were presented in a totally unique viewpoint as to give them yet significant brain food.

You owe it to yourself to read this book. You may be forgiven if you skip Appleseed #3 and #4, but not if you skip #1 or #2.
