Having just bought this two days ago, I have to say that I enjoyed Appleseed's Soundtrack completely. Without a doubt its the best CD I've bought and a money redeemer since for my past Purchase "Fallen" by Evanescence (the horror of all bad music).


Disk one is full of electronic music that ranges from the awesome, the cool, and the not so great. By far the best tracks on this would be: 1. Boom Boom Satellites / Dive For You (my all time favorite track); 2. Paul Oakenfold / Burns Attack; 3. Basement Jaxx / Good Luck (feat. Lisa Kekaula) [absolute favorite: The disco-type beat the vocals are best suited for this song]; 4. T. Raumschmiere / One Man Army; 5. Boom Boom Satellites / Bump Over Hills; 7. Atom / White Car; 10. Boom Boom Satellites / Anthem (this is a beautiful song with beautiful lyrics no matter how few); and 11. Boom Boom Satellites / Underdog are all witch some of what makes Disk one of the better buys out of the two disks.




The other tracks: 6. Ryuichi Sakamoto / coro (My ears were hurting after this track. The beginning has you thinking its going to be this awesome song but once the beginning is over, you'll want to skip this and fast.); 8. Carl Craig VS Adult / Hand To Phone (Appleseed version) [this isn't a bad song, its just missing the tempo and beat the others had]; 9. Akufen / The Dragonfly Who Thought He Was A Mockingbird (much like track 6. Coro, this song makes no sense and you'll want to skip it). ----[a 5 out of 5]




Disk two is the original score for the movie which I have yet to see. I have no Idea who composed this music (I'm just glad they picked someone other than Yoko Kanno) but I can tell you from track one to track Twelve, its nothing short of interesting. Although at times it does sound like something out of a video game than something you'd hear in a movie (anime or not), some of the tempos in some of the tracks (excluding the African type drums I kept hearing) reminded me of a PSX video game called "Army Men 2."


Track 1. "Appleseed"/2. "Exposed" are the songs I've heard in the English trailer for the US release of the movie. Its not bad, it even carries some electronic beats in it.


Track 9. "Crossfire" (as well as a segment from Paul Oakenfold's "Burns attack") is another song I've heard in the Geneon R.O.D. THE TV volume 4 Extra's section, its a really cool track.


Track 10. "Kikan (Return)" part of this track is also a song I've heard in the Appleseed Trailer volume four of R.O.D. THE TV DVD, its very moving and emotional.

IF You've ever watched the movie then you'll enjoy this soundtrack, despite this I loved it and are still enjoying it. [4.5 out of 5]

This is a great Anime Soundtrack. This is a killer anime itself, but the soundtrack really drives across the whole man/machine theme of the movie with tons of great electronic music. All of the major songs you here in the movie are on CD 1. Disk 2 is your basic movie score. Disc 2 to be honest, kind of bored me. There is really nothing there that stands out. It is fairly run of the mill orchestra music. On Disk 1, the stand out track is hands down the Boom Boom Satellites "Dive for You." But really all the songs here by Boom Boom Satellites rock. Paul Oakenfold's Burn Attack is a nice DJ style techno song & Basement Jaxx's Good Luck is a house/dance anthem you can picture being blared in a underground dance club in New York. Atom's White car has a nice combination of crazy beats overlaid with each other very subtly. All in All, Disc 1 is a great electronica/techno/trance/house/dance CD. Disk 2 is bland but necessary because you can't get Disk 1 without it. You could always use it as a coaster while you chill listening to the good sounds of the First Disk. If you dig electronic music or this Anime, by this. But buy the US version. The Import Version costs a ton more and you get them same music.

It's hard not to be obsessed with this soundtrack. If you have seen the movie, you'll love these songs even more because it reminds you of the energy of film.

The best part of the soundtrack is the first half of the first CD -- you start with the Boom Boom Satellites, who are heavily influenced by Sigue Sigue Sputnik's original sound. Paul Oakenfeld is already a god within the world of techno/trance/electronica, and with "Burns Attack" you'll know why. The movie opens with the third song of the soundtrack, "Good Luck" by Basement Jaxx, a catchy tune that you can't help but enjoy.

The rest of the album is filled with more Boom Boom Satellites, the German virtuoso T. Raumschmiere, and the illustrious Ryuichi Sakamoto who is reknowned for being a pioneer in fusing electronica with various other genres. Granted that the rest of the soundtrack is not as good as the first four songs, but that's because those songs are just that good.

The second CD contains the original score of the movie, which is good in its own merits. But if you're lover of the movie and electronica, you'll spend most of your time listening to the first CD.

If you're not a big fan of house, big-beat techno and electronica, you probably won't enjoy this soundtrack much -- but then you wouldn't have enjoyed the movie as much either.

Bottom line, this soundtrack just became my all-time favorite anime soundtrack. It makes a pretty darn good workout mix as well.

Very excellent soundtrack. One of the few i have ever bought in fact. I continue to listen to this over and over and I only love it more each time. If u loved the movie, this is a very good buy indeed.

Being a big fan since the early 90s of the appleseed series, i always tried to match music to form it's Soundscape, now here comes along a movie with a decent soundtrack to boot, I'm a huge Detroit Techno fan so seeing a Carl Craig produced track was fuel alone to purchase the Cd but i also liked Atom's white car which has a really deep electronic feel with just a touch of funk. The asian directors of anime really have good taste in music i feel. if your mind is deep enough and not top40 MTV brianwashed this CD is for you.

I saw the movie and wanted the CD. Now I have it. Now I am happy. I am extremely pleased with the CD, however, it took longer to arrive to me that most of my purchases on Amazon. I did get it though, so I still recommend purchasing from this seller. Thank you for my CD, I LOVE it!

This is one of the few anime/cg items that I've ever considered buying, and I certainly made a right choice. Postapocalyptic in nature, with a newborn utopia, humans have created a new lifeform called bioroids, basically the same as themselves, though no part of their body is able to reproduce. As humans show distaste for these "things" and continue to sabotage the bioroids' life-extending facilities, this causes many problems. The animation is new and different, and the various sounds in the feature make for an amazing action movie filled with drama, a little romance, and, of course, great action scenes. This movie is a must-have for all who like Japanese entertainment.

Appleseed is an anime movie, for those who just happen to have stumbled here on accident... but then again, there are no accidents, only mistaken purposes. But before I wax eloquent, let me say this: Appleseed is not only an awesome anime, but the soundtrack is to boot. The first disc is actual songs; I like to refer to this first disc as "Boom Boom Satellites With Filler" cause... well, BBS is the best band on here; props to Paul Oakenfold too. The second disc is an instrumental disc courtesy of Tetsuya Takahashi. Awesomeness on two CDs- what more do ya want?

If you're into electronic/technoish music, this cd is great. It features the same genre of music from a bunch of artists from around the world. Most of it has a moderatley quick beat.

This soundtrack really grows on you. I was a little put of by some of the tracks the first listen, but now it is a staple for me almost every day! Most of this album is great, but a couple of songs are just ok. It all holds together pretty well as an album.
