3.0 out of 5 stars Get A Real Review Book Instead, September 13, 2004
This review is from: Appleton & Lange Review of Pharmacy (Paperback)
This book is great for quizzing you so you know what subjects to brush up on. THe CD can also get you used to the CAT format. But having taken the NAPLEX after using this book and several others, you will never see these questions on the NAPLEX. The chances of seeing the same question is almost zilch. Its better to know your key subjects well (HTN, DM, HIV, etc) then learn facts here and there about everything. That's what this book does for you. Its a compilation of specific questions. I recommend a review book such as APHA's Comprehensive Pharmacy Review, or Kaplans Naplex review instead.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Reference Book, May 21, 2004

This review is from: Appleton & Lange Review of Pharmacy (Paperback)
I purchased the last edition of this book, but decided more people would read the review for this edition. The book is an excellent review of Pharmacy. Note that I did not say an excellent review for the NAPLEX. This book has more information than you will need to pass the exam. However, if you are worried about your skills or would like to brush up this is an excellent reference. Try not to get too hung up on the questions you miss. Also advice for students taking the NAPLEX soon, don't take the pre-NAPLEX. It's a waste of 50 dollars. Chances are you'll pass the NAPLEX look at the statistics.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful assistance, March 3, 2007
This review is from: Appleton & Lange Review of Pharmacy (Paperback)
I studied this book from cover to cover and from cover to cover again while I awaited my exam date. Once I got started on the actual NAPLEX the questions were almost elementary after having gone through the somewhat rigorous questions found in this guide. The CDrom test is handy but ultimately once you have taken it once the test doesn't change and is therefore useless. I suggest this study tool and can't emphasize enough how much it made the actual exam easy.
