5.0 out of 5 stars The Hardest Working Band You've Never Heard Of...WHY?? November 9, 2004
Format:Audio CD
Disengage is one of those bands that makes you want to drink whiskey by the gallon, start a revolution at your local shopping center, and kick all the ass that gets in your way. These Cleveland sons o' [...] play fast, hard rock & roll via Black Flag by way of Sabbath. (impossible, you say?) They also throw in a decent amount of fuzzed out glory to bring a "Kyuss on speedballs" theory that is quite true, especially when experienced live at ceiling cracking levels. I once saw these guys @ Hessfest '02 and my ears and bowels have never been the same. Jason Disengage (vocals) sounds like a punk rock Maynard James Keenan eating a bag of nails...swear to god. Intelligent, literate lyrics, and vocals you can comprehend mix well with a solid rhythm section and 1 guitarist who manages to sound like a brick wall all by himself. Perfect for driving. A tank. Into Baghdad. Buy this cd so you can lie to your friends and say you were into them first...also check out their LP on Man's Ruin records, who also releases the Desert Sessions series. boom. Stand out tracks include (but not limited to) Love Letter Rough Draft, Death Threat, and the first 2 tracks. If your younger sibling, someone you know, or perhaps even yourself listens to metalcore, hardcore, screamo, or punk rock have no fear...you'll be listening to Disengage in 2 years. You heard it here first.
